GPU temperature while playing gta v
Hello, i wanted to ask a question, is it normal for nvidia geforce gtx 750 ti 2gb to go to 75*C while playing? (my cooling is stock)

75 is fine for a gfx card

Oh and temperature outside is like 25*C and its evening

sometimes it goes up to 80

gpu's are safe as high as 100c dont recommend going much over 85c though

i got 770 gtx lighting, i run my settings in window and on medium, it stays on 40 cellus and cpu i7 stays on 60 cellus. Your good, anything under 90 is good. But then you got the FANS running on high speed and it sounds like a helikopter next to you, so i rather run medium settings.

It's more than fine. If it's not, you'll know. the GPU will throttle itself down, and at worst, shut off.

http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2752/~/nvidia-gpu-maximum-operating-temperature-and-overheating

"NVIDIA GPUs are designed to operate reliably up to their maximum specified operating temperature. This maximum temperature varies by GPU, but is generally in the 105C range (refer to the nvidia.com product page for individual GPU specifications). If a GPU hits the maximum temperature, the driver will throttle down performance to attempt to bring temperature back underneath the maximum specification. If the GPU temperature continues to increase despite the performance throttling, the GPU will shutdown the system to prevent damage to the graphics card. Performance utilities such as EVGA Precision or GPU-Z can be used to monitor temperature of NVIDIA GPUs. If a GPU is hitting the maximum temperature, improved system cooling via an added system fan in the PC can help to reduce temperatures."

OMG :D, Wait,I have a question, is it normal that when GPU temp goes up my fps goes up too.. my fps goes up to 120

Yes.

If you run with Vsync and lock at 60FPS your opverall GPU usage will be below 100%, thus you wont produce as much heat.

When you run without VSYNC the game will render as many frames as fast as posible and use very spare cycle of GPU power, resulting in 100 usage and higher heat, but also resulting in 100% of the frame rate the card is capable of any any given time.

Becuase of this playing with VSYNC (or even half-vsync) is a great option for those on batery power via laptops. By limiting their frame rate to an acceptable level they prevent un-needed power being wated on rendering the extra non-needed frames and thus game longer :)

770 lightning, gpu max 62, cpu max 51 (i7 4770k 4.9 ghz), fractal r4, macho hr02. fps locked on 40 all settings maxed out (fxaa=off, txaa=2, refaa=2). extra shadows = 0%, extra distance 60%, hqshadows=off.

He didn't mention vsync, though. He's saying his frame rates increase as his GPU temperature goes up, which is counterintuitive at best. He may have worded his question wrong.

He didnt need to mention VSYNC, as he said his FPS was 120, and therefore he is running without vsync by definition.

As to his frame rate statment, its not counterintuitive at all. He observed that as his Temp increased so did his FPS, but he also said his temps are at ~80c and below. Therefore what he observed was that as his GPU warmed up from idle to Load, which happens relaiitivly fast, generaly while background loading occurs, his FPS went up, which wsa likely due to the background loading finishing about the same time as his GPU hit operating temp. The only way his statement would have been counter intuitive was if his GPU was overheating and throttling.

He noticed the conection between FPS (gpu usage) and Heat correctly, his only mistake was inversing the correlation between them. A simple one to make for someone lacking the understanding, and not one I felt was needed to call him out on.

I'm guessing you meant 'with vsync' instead of without.

no, assuming a 60hz monitor (still the industry standard) then 120fps would be double the refresh and thus he would be running without vsync by definition. With Vsync it would be locked at 60fps, and with half it would be at 30fps.

Only exception would be for screens higher than 60hz refresh.
