The mod rules are the same as the public online portion so if your idea is to use mods then you will get in trouble ( eventually ).
Most of the Online lobby features will be available in an Invite-Only Session. You can still do all of the stuff you would normally do in a Public or Crew Session (deliver cars to Simeon, do Lester's "distract the police" sidequest, do Gang Attacks, etc.) but there don't seem to be supply crate drops, which aren't that important, anyway.
Many of the GTA Online jobs can be done with only one player. The job details will let you know of the player count (say, a 1-8 player race), so you can still level up and get money from doing races alone, and run Contact Missions by yourself.
That was my idea... qq
Some mods does not even work in online-mode, that's the bad thing.
