The last one I did was the one where the guy is tied to the pole and you have to take him to his wedding. I had a power outage during that mission and when I rebooted the game, it loaded just before I had activated the mission but the guy was not there. Ever since then, none of these random hitchikers will spawn:(
I mean, I really don't mind starting the game over. It has been long enough that I could go for another round, but I'm at like 80% completion and I've already achieved 100% twice on Xbox... Really not trying to go through ALL of that again 4/5's over lol
Please keep us (me lol) posted if you eventually get them to spawn. Good luck!
EDIT: I just noticed that I'm not being offered any of the jobs from the various businesses the characters own either...
I was able to get the events to show up again by turning on sleep mode, saving/sleeping, and then turning normal mode back on. I have heard from others that this solution didn't work for them but it is worth a shot.
Any chance the save you're using is an older save? Like one you started before the majority of the updates/patches? Mine was a save I started one day after launch.
My best guess is that the majority of ppl seeing this issue are using old save files and it is simply that the massive amount of content that has been added is causing issues...
Another person suggested a really large amount of money could cause it (as most ppl who experience this issue, notice it late in the game, after they have made $1.6 - 2.1 billion. Which makes sense because 2,147,483,647 is the max that 32bit binary will allow for an integer, and if you invest the big heist money properly, you hit that number easily. I've seen maxed values and larger than max values cause issues in other games so maybe it's causing an issue here too.)
I recently started a new save and have seen no issues with random events. In fact, I'm starting to remember how annoying they can be lol
Anyways, try the sleep mode/normal mode method I mentioned and let me know if it works for you. Best of luck!
