Import saves from other players?

There is a stupid achievement not unlocking for me. I have almost all but the Downtown Cab company, which should give me missions, just doesn't give me missions. I googled a lot and tried every kind of fix the other users found. My oldest save is at 70% progress overall (main story not finished yet). I bought the company in that save and waited and tried things but never called. Also in the 100% save, they don't call.

Is it possible to use another player's save with my account? Let's say if I ever found a save of someone just with enough money to buy the company but very far in the game progress (I heard that doing Tonya tow missions help unstucking the Downtown call glitch), would I be able to import it or does the save stay locked to the relative RGSC account?

I completed all of Tonya towing missions and also tried to repeat the first as someone said on the internet....it didn't help, the Downtown Cab Co. doesn't call me for the private fares so I cannot get one of the last achievements I need to have 100%.

So basically....can someone share a save early in the game (a bit after you unlock Trevor and can go back to Franklyn) ?

The location of the saves:

C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\Profiles\FOLDERXXX (number)

p.s. btw also random events are not popping up in the city, I tried for ages to make the Duke of death spawn....it never worked. It is ok since I did the majority of them but would have been nice to see some others now that I am complete with the game. The Hen pub or whatever it's called used to call me (as Trevor) for their runs, but after that no business ever called me, maybe the script got stuck much earlier than I noticed. In the meantime I'll try doing a run at the McKenzie airfield....hopefully it gets it working again but pls reply to this post if you have a save to share so I can try buying the Downtown company and get the private fare call.

wont the save be the other persons character though

it's single player so it doesn't matter really. i doubt it would store the online character but if it did, that would mean the save file is bound to one person whole account so maybe it is impossible to import it. i will try anyway as soon as I get a save from someone else.

I can confirm that importing save works. Just import the single game files (.bak) not the whole folder and you'll have your profile, with someone else's savegames to browse in the menu, normally.

The problem is I have now only a save at 5%, means I have to play everything again. Please if someone has a save a bit after unlocking trevor (and going back to franklyn and michael) let me know....something like 30% or even 40 - 50 may help.

it would be enough for me to have a save after the mission 'friends reunited' with franklyn having 200k or more....thanks everybody.

i have 5 12 14 19 20 something and 32 and 43% saves if you need any

you could share the profile folder or the .bak files or something. you can notice which files are the save and which files contain informations about the profile / graphic settings. Only the files are needed and their name is in this template:

SGTA50000.bak
SGTA50000 (no extension)

A pair of files like this is a savegame. You could make a .zip of all those files and put it online somewhere! Thanks !

Indeed normally you should just get a cell phone call, I have multiple saves from the story though... I took that achievement after I finished the story so maybe I could send you one from earlier in the story?

theres the saves and under each one is a bak do you need both or what

any save is ok really, just upload them and share the link for the download. For ONE save you need TWO files of the same name (one has .bak extension and one doesn't). I think is a way of the game of preventing the corruption of a save file (bak would be the backup) but anyway doesn't matter, better both just to be sure.

yeah dropbox is great otherwise there are some other services like rapidshare or similar. if you have dropbox or google drive you could just create a public link. very kind thanks! I'll try the saves as soon as I download them
