Will graphic/texture replacement mods ban you from Online?
In short, No.

On about every page for a graphic mod replacements, it says it "might" ban you from Online. This drives me insane! I just want a sure answer to this. It makes perfect sense to me that it does not. If you really think about it, Online just loads GTA's normal base files. If you replaced the texture of the Company logo on a car to maybe Lamborghini, the texture file is nothing but a replacement to the original, so they game will just think it is loading that texture. As far as I know, there is no texture checking system in place so the game can't possibly pick up on a texture replacement as something unusual such as a script. It makes perfect sense that files like scripts that are not apart of the base game and are there own thing are found to be unusual and might lead to a ban since they are not meant to be there. Texture mods are just files to take the place of the original and loads the same way, so how would the game discover it is not the original file and how could this be found as a threat? Am I wrong?

Any modding tempering with game files while, online will get you banned !
Really ! When people learn to read
Pinned is for a reason !!
I don't know the answer, but it is pretty easy to check if a file is original or nor. One just has to create a hash of the file. This is a text that is completely different even if just a byte was changed. So you just have to compare the original hash with the one of the file to check. If they aren't matching they are different.
do the graphic mods work online? for example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFmArNoAVfw
would that work in online lobbys? or just campaign

Rules are very simple, modding in online is not allowed. Cheaters get banned be sure of that, I saw alot of them here...

what do these mods do? the game looks beautiful as is, and is the biggest hog in gaming history. do the graphics mods make the game perform better?
The mods are very useful to this game for me. I REALLY hate the color pallets R* used in this game. Everything always looks so black and white and bland. Nothing stands out and just looking at the textures bore the living hell out of me. I can only stand to play games with a, i dont know, ?design? that I like. I can't stand playing games like Borderlands because I hate the cell shaded graphics. I thought the game was pretty fun, but the cell shaded kind of design they used just annoyed me to much so I couldnt really play it. Games like this, I think I would rather risk getting banned and not be able to play the game again then play it in its condition. That's my opinion. I just can't really enjoy a game if it doesn't have a graphic design that I like and can appreciate.

tl;dr: Thievius likes games that look like cartoons, but not when they look like cartoons.

I think it's safe to say you won't get banned... While scrolling through a few graphics mods, I saw people were able to use em in online... Specifically R*Hancer so far...
Just because they can use them doesn't mean its safe to say you wont get banned. They just haven't been reported by anyone yet.

GTA 5 is superior in every shape and form.

Finally, someone agrees. There is no way for the game to know that you have a sound mod that replaces sounds if it-say-replaced the sound file with a different sound. All the game checks for are added files or edited script files or things like that. There is no way for it to know if you replace a texture or sound.
