[SOLVED] Save Game Location
I want to backup my singleplayer game because I'm installing some mods, but I don't know where it's located, and I don't want to backup a 60GB folder.

There's no savegame or profiles folder in the Rockstar folder thingy.
I know it's located in the steamapps folder, then common and Grand Theft Auto V, but I do not know where.

PLEASE HELP!

Documents?

Do you mean C:\Users/username\AppData\Local\Rockstar Games\GTA V?

If so, that can't be it. How is a 'videos' folder, 0 KB "silentlauncher" file and an empty 'User Music' folder a save file?

Its in your My Documents folder, saikoraito just gave you the shortcut to it.

I don't understand.

I went to C:, then Users and my username, and I find no My Documents folder.

%USERPROFILE% is a windows shortcut thingy (not the technical term lol). You might have moved your My Documents folder some where else, I have mine on a different partition so it doesn't get wiped when reinstalling windows.

Still nothing.

I searched for "Rockstar Games."
No folder!

I went to %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V and it says that it's unavailable.

There's no Documents or My Documents folder!

I'm on Win 7 so might not be the same for 8 if your on that but you can find your Documents in your Personal folder on the start menu.

There is no My Documents folder.

I found a Documents folder in 'This PC', but it's empty.

I know.

It says "%USERPROFILE%\Downloads\Documents" as I expected, but that folder is EMPTY.

Somethings gone wrong somewhere then, try looking on sevenforums or eightforums for how to reset the user folder locations.

This doesn't make any sense. The save file(s) must be located SOMEWHERE, right?

I restored the Documents folder to its default location which is %USERPROFILE%\Documents, but it's empty.

%USERPROFILE%\Documents is empty.
I've tried showing hidden files, but it doesn't work. Please help.

After hours of aggression and no help, I figured it out. I had to first move the Documents folder from the "Downloads" folder to the User/Username/Documents folder, then wipe GTA V entirely.

I lost 24 hours of gameplay and all game settings I've configured, but at least now I can back my files up.
*sigh*

Thanks for your help, everyone.

Heads up, if you use Gamesave Manager and select the entire GTAV folder in my docs it will backup all your clips from the video maker too, so better off just selecting "Profile " and you should be set. I'm testing it now.
