Is Grand Theft Auto 5 worth buying, if I already have the Xbox 360 port? Is the PC version that much better?
I'd like some honest opinions. I already have GTA 5 on XBOX 360. However, I've been buying steam ports of other games I have, for the sake of having everything on the laptop. I was skeptical, since it's 60 bucks for the PC port, when I technically already have the game. But people are saying GTA 5 on PC is the "definitive version." Is it really worth buying, even though I already have it on Xbox 360? Or is the PC port better to the point where once I play it I'd never go back to the 360 port again? Any opinions, thoughts, or advice? Realistically, I don't care about the online mode. Although, based on what I have read, the extra features that I heard about seem pretty nice so far. A first person view, 60fps, a mode where you build your own scenario and you can make your own replay videos and effects, better graphics and effects (which I should be able to run decently with my specs). I also heard they added new cars and guns? If so, what kind? Are there other features I didn't know about? New missions? New clothes? New Customize options for cars? I know it sounds like I somewhat made up my mind, but some more details from those who have the port wouldn't hurt. If this port is as good as people say it is, I'd probably buy this one, and sell my 360 version online. I saw some reviews on youtube, but a lot of them seem to leave a lot of things out which they could have covered. Thanks everyone!

1.) It's not a port.

2.) It's far better than the 360 version and definitely worth the money.
I have it on PS3 and I only bought PC version to play with friends.
keep you xbox 360 game, on pc is a hack infection online
Its not better if you don't have a good pc. But Yea i'd play it on pc or nextgen. If you already beat it tho why even get it again? Gta online is fun but it's not any different onr pc besides graphics maybe being better depending on pc.
If you don't care for the online experience, then mods are the biggest benefit of owning the PC version. Anything from sandbox mods to enhancing the graphics beyond the in game options are available.

What's the bizarre definition of "port" where this doesn't qualify? I don't know how familiar you are with software development, but this is most definitely a port.
360 version i just couldn't play. too much frame drop/jitter/popin/mailboxes stopping you then spawning visually.

PC version: over 200 hours and counting..

It don't take much to be better than 360

This port is much better than any other offering

If you have a good PC and are patient, this game is great
If I spent $60 on it, I'd be rather upset.

It's a great game and all - But coming from a 360 user, it's really not much different apart from first person and editable graphics to make it look really nice.

Same story, a few new side things that I believe were added on the "Next-Gen Version".

GTA Online quickly turns into the same thing it is on the console, only difference I've noticed besides the player count is that people can now type with T/Y and Passive Mode works differently.

You can also recover your character from your console to your PC for Online - Which is actually pretty cool, but there still aren't any Animals or New Activities that weren't there on the 360/PS3 release.

If you really liked GTA Online and can validate paying for that experience (Since I'm assuming you beat the game on console already) - Then you'll be happy with your purchase.

If you're expecting things to be different such as, DLC Cars in traffic, Animals Online, Enterable Buildings, Casino, etc. You're out of luck - There isn't really any notable difference between the two besides the secret tunnel somewhere by Chilliad.

360 version was just a beta test.
PC version looks so much better than even the PS4 version. If you don't wanna pay 60 then wait for sale or get it from GMG with voucher.
If you like the game and still play it on 360, AND if you have a PC that can handle it on normal or above settings, then grab it up, the game is amazing. Make sure to import your character, then trade in that old 360 version for a bit of credit on something new :)

If you dont play it anymore on the 360 version, and are wondering if the PC version has new things to offer, then no, dont bother.

If you have a pc that is near the minimum requirements, then it will be about the same as what you are used to on the 360 version (quality wise) but will have the new FPS mode.

If you like FPS games, the FPS mode in GTA-V is very nicely done with full animations for everything. You can play the entire game through in it, and its practically a different game from that perspective. It reminds me of what GTA would be like in a Far-Cry game engine lol.

Here is some motorcycle riding in FPS view on mostly high settings (but not maxed):

also, flying a Duster in FPS (notice the working cockpit gauges):

and finishing prison break in that HORRID armored cop transport in FPS (even harder to see out of than the Kuruma!):

Don't bother unless you have a 970 or better. I can barely run it at acceptable levels with my 970. Anyone with anything less wasted their money.

Its not the game, its something with your system or how the game works ON your system.

I record those vids and play on an Athlon II x4 645 (stock) with 6gb DDR2-667 and an HD7870 Ghz eddition.

No problems, All high or above settings (minus some advanced graphics (seperate menu for the OP who doesnt know)), FXAA on.

Depending on the screen I am on (monitor or TV) I run it with those settings and 4xMSAA/8xMSAA Reflections @ 1366x768 (tv) or 2xMSAA/4xMSAA Reflection @ 1080P (monitor).

No vsync.

Average frame rate of 35-45 in the city (cpu bottleneck) and 55-85 indoors or small places (gpu limit).
