I'd only use controller emulators offline, do not go online while its installed.
I sent your comment on to the ppl who wrote IM and will post back with their answer.
I researched before I did it and that's when I kept coming across different anecdotes of what people were encountering and some solutions that ranged from buyiong hardware emulators -not exactly cheap- to various software based ones. I have read that they are being strict about the hackers but agai, there is no need to change anything in the game because all the game does is interprets what commands my controller is giving it. As long as the data format makes sense and creates the correct action, it shouldn't have any other issues.
All the emulator does is makes the PS4 controller appear as an Xbox controller to the game. The wireless ability is also built into the game and is standard Bluetooth.
I'll still post back after I hear back to put the final word on it.

Basically I don't think anybody know WTF is going on. I haven't heard back from IM but posted on their web.
I opened my BlueTooth settings- I use a Bluetooth dongle on my PC that's pretty old. In my case the icon was in the taskbar by the clock. I selected 'add a device' from that menu which opened my Windows Settings page. At the top I clicked 'computer and settings" and from there I clicked Bluetooth which opened a window where it was scanning for devices. At that point I press and hold both the Playstation Logo button and the Share button until the light on the front starts blinking rapidly . (NOTE: it has two flash speeds and one is noticably faster than the other. You want the fastest one. I'm not sure what the slower one means.)
At that point the Windows Bluetooth screen will show a game pad icon and say 'gaming device found' or words to that effect. There is a box with 'pair'in it below the icon which you click. You will then be presented with another window requesting a code. Enter '0000' -four zeroes- and hit enter. (NOTE: four zeroes is a sort of universal code for Bluetooth) The view will return to the Bluetooth screen where you'll see the PS4 device is now active. I close the page. Then, I just launch the game. and things work. I didn't have to change any settings in the game.
"That's complete BS and not even how any of these programs work, It is perfectly safe in any online games as it is not injecting or communicating with the game at all. I would appreciate a link to where this was posted so I can set them straight."

I'm reinstalling it because it allows me to use my PS4 with other games that for some reason will not work with anything but an Xbox controller.
Correct, IM actually creates a virtual bus with a virtual device on it and send data packets to the virtual device which is then in turn recognized by Windows as an actual 360 controller connected. We do not inject code or hook any game files or communicate or interact with the game in any other way. Because of this it does not violate any existing, nor will it likely violate any future, game EULAs or TOSs.
Bottom line, Its safe.
An additional use for using IM over native DInput support provided by the game is the rumble support and track pad support to map extra commands and navigate the games fake web browsers.
Edit: Ohh yea, I'm the dev just so people know that I'm speaking from first hand knowledge.
Yes, it does work natively with Bluetooth. You have to pair it in Windows first using 0000 as the code when Windows asks. Then, make sure the controller is turned on before launching GTAV. That's all there is.
This was one time looking it up before trying to do it sure made it seem like an impossible task with doubtful results.
