Recording everytime I hit the run button on gamepad

This is truly annoying and i can't for the life of me figure out how to fix this. I'm playing on a ps4 controller and every time I hit his my X button which is run and of course many other functions in game, I start recording a clip. I saw one thread about this with no fix. Anyone had this problem? Does anyone have an idea how to turn this off. I can't seem to rebind this recording function.

Here a am 6 almost 7 years later and I'm having this problem. Did anyone ever find a solution

Using a PS5 controller, nicely recognised by steam, but GtA sees an xbox controller. And it’s impossible to dash. In fact after trying to do so, the character walks even slower than before dashing. And so much storage to maintain -.-‘

It happens when running forward, for instance, so left stick forward and holding or tapping X/A. Driving is doable, but any ill mannered players around when walking and you don't stand a chance

Hi Everyone, just wanted to post how I fixed this majorly annoying bug.

1) Launch GTA V, then go to Settings > Key Bindings.
2) Find Start / Stop Action Replay Recording > change the usage button to * on your numpad (or any other keybind that is not used).
3) Exit the game and go to (the username/profilename is surely differently named) : C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\Profiles\PROFILENAME\control > Open it with notepad
4) Look for input written below. Change source to what is written below. Remove the text within item:

<Input>INPUT_REPLAY_START_STOP_RECORDING</Input>
<Source>IOMS_PAD_DIGITALBUTTON</Source>
<Parameters>
<Item></Item>

This fixed the problem for me! :)

Just disable the desktop input in controller settings for steam BigPicture, worked for me

You can change the run button to just hold X, instead of mashing it.
