Question: LCN Stock Market Refresh
Can someone tell me the intended behavior of the LCN stock market refresh rate in single player mode? I thought Google would be more helpful, but I've run across a lot of discussion from 2013.

I started a new game and decided to try some day trading with the $500,000 pre-order bonus money as soon as I had free reign over Franklin. When I navigated to stocks, I found they were updating every ten to fifteen seconds real time. I got up to about $1,000,000 before inevitably saving and loading the game for some reason.

Now the stocks don't update while I'm playing. They have different values each time I load the game. But no matter what day or time it is in-game the LCN stock index doesn't move. I just tested this again and confirmed that once I load a game for the first time, LCN just stops. Bug?

Hi! Did you ever figure this out? I just started playing and I am also having this issue.
I dont remember the exact times so bear with me, but this is roughly how it works, similar to real life. The market is open from 8am to 8pm (or something like that). They change quickly during open business hours and then do not change much if at all at night and weekends.

I highly recommend reading the Lester/Franklin assignation tutorial. You basically save all the money you can during the main story missions, save all the Franklin assassination missions and then when the last story mission is over, you invest money before and or after each assassination. You can end up with 2 billion on each character if you do it right.
I know all about the assassination missions now, however I did them all without investing. So I would like to earn money using the stock market however my stock market is not working exactly as described above.

The working conclusion I reached after further testing does contradict the previous answer, but my memory is hazy.

I was never able to replicate the constantly-changing stock market. That only occurred at the beginning of a new story prior to saving the game.

I did discover that it changed pretty consistently at 00:00 in-game time. Performing certain actions, such as participating in a mission, would also manually trigger the stock market to update. Savescum stock market hijinks are still possible without the exploits you find in guides, however at intervals that will require great patience.

I'm having the same issue, the market just stops updating after loading a game and never updates ever again.
Stop trying to reload last save after you lost your money in stock market is the way go.
This happened to me after I turned off autosave and reloaded the game. Is there anyone here who didn't turn off autosave at some point before this happened to them?
