1280 x 720 won't display in full screen.
For performance reasons, I need to run this game at 1280 x 720. This makes the game take up just a tiny window in the middle of my screen with a black border around it. My native display resolution is 1920 x 1080.

In other games, I can fix this problem by running it in a window and then using borderless gaming to max it out. That's not working with this game. When I max out the window like I usually do, GTA V ups the resolution back to something like 1918 x 1076 and it makes it so I can't really run the game as a solid frame rate.

How do I run the game at a lower res, specifically 1280 x 720, and keep it at that res while making it take up my whole screen?

Thank you!

I think you mean 16:9?

na , 1280 x 720 is 16:10 , if you're in 16:9 the resolution won't show up.

I have 16:9 and use 720p.

Good day!
I also have this problem with 2 resolutions, one being 1366x768. Not sure about the other one, but it was one of the 1280s. It's just not scaling to fullscreen.
It's not a problem that appears just in GTA V, since i also had this problem with Dying Light. So it might be screen or graphic driver related.

That just toggles fullscreen. But he ( and me ) are already in Fullscreen. Its just not scaling the picture to... well... actually taking the whole screen.

Yeah, so 1280 x 720 is definitely a 16:9 resolution, so that's not an issue...As I said, I can fix this problem in other games by switching to borderless windowed mode, but in this game that just ups the resolution back to something close to 1920 x 1080.

I want to run this game at 1280 x 720 in an actual full window with no black borders around it making the image smaller.

Is this going to be a 720p 1280x720/1366x768 and 16:9/16:10 issue?

You need to set the scale option in AMD or Nvidia panel.

There is no AMD or Nvidia control panel, since this is just running an intel HD integrated card.

Anyway, I got it working. I just lowered my desktop res to 1280 x 720 and now that border isn't there anymore. Game works pretty well on a Surface Pro 2.

Same solution for Intel, and it is easier. Just look for the scale option.
