Merryweather Heist - stuck at screen with exploded boat

I play single mode and can not pass Merryweather Heist mission. When Michael set explosives on the ship and Franklin shot all guards of the ship, Michael left off the ship and I call a contact "explode" in Franklin's phone to blow up the ship. Then a movie started showing the ship exploded. And here game stopped. Movie just never ends: fire burns on the ship, cars are moving somewhere on the back, day follows the night. But I can't skip this movie and continue to play.

Jim-Bim, I solved it with ingame safe mode.

Thanks for the tip - I didn't find safe mode, but changing water details while being stuck at the exploded boat triggered the next scene for me!

You get offered the safe mode if your game crashes or you force it to close.

I had the same thing happen. Loading my autosave and re-doing the mission got me through without issue, so my assumption is that this bug triggers randomly. When it happened, I was getting area messages and got a few sounds that made it seem like Michael was endlessly falling through the ground.

Changing water details to normal from high setting fixed it for me as well.
