Bulletproof vest and helmet from suburban actually helps as armor?

A friend said to me that the Suburban shop sells 'bulletproof' vests and helmets that increase overall armor (they claimed to live longer during battles).. I find it hard to believe that a costume shop will sell something that actually helps in game and not just as cosmetic..

So does it help?

Yep, well, the helmet does anyway, tests on youtube show people can take more than one shot to the head with it on. As for the body armor type vests, not sure actually, unlikely.

Not really sure about extra health/armor, but it sure made me run slower during heists.

I tend to slap it on when I'm in a drawn out firefight with some random.

Yes the bullet proof helmet and with full health and armor will let you survive one shot to the head with a heavy sniper with just a SLIVER of health left.

Well nice to know, altho according to this quote above me, the helmet needs a debuff.
