Can I monetize footage of this game on Youtbue?

it should be illegal your using their game to make money.

You don't under Youtube Monetization obviously. They put ads on your videos and pay you based on how many people view the ads. Lots of developers allow you to monetize your videos and make money off the ads but some don't. They have a right to keep you from doing it because in a way you are making money from their game.

exactly, though I think the pay is based on how many people CLICK on the ads, not just view it. don't quote me on that though

It is currently a gray area. Most game companies will let you post monetized youtube videos since it gets them more exposure - something which this game already has. FYI: there are thousands of videos about this game out there already (many monetized, I think).

vanossgaming basically made his living on this game alone, and with it coming out on pc he can play it even more
