How to remove 'point of interest' from map?

How do I remove a 'point of interest' from the map in the PC version of GTA V?

- Press esc
- Open map
- Use in-game map cursor to hover over a point of interest
- Press tab to remove

i'm moreso having an issue REMOVING points of interest on the map. yes the ones you place yourself. i can't place or remove them anymore, even when i try to remove a few of the ones i've placed, upon reloading they reappear where i put them before. i've been having this problem for months now, in online, because i was trying to pin where certain stunt jumps were located, and i've completed all of them ages ago. on the flipside i can't exactly place any points of interest either due to this, because any time i place them somewhere else, and remove them from where they were before, doesn't matter if i save, reload, save to rockstar servers, doesn't matter, it resets back to where the stunt jump p.o.i.'s i set before were. pretty sure this is a bug. if there's a way to fix this, i'd love to know. just to clarify again... i'm only having this issue online, and i'd rather not erase the character i have just to fix this if possible.

Years later and it still doesn't save the configuration even after force save/sync by changing my character's accessories. Quality bug, cockroach-esque, will probably outlive all our children - 10/10.
