That's such crap.. Good thing I didn't upgrade/buy anything other than my default car.
I figured buying a car, or storing it in a garage makes it function as a "permanent" car.
I just googled around, discovered "Mors car insurance" or something along those lines. Apparently it's single-player only :/
Ontop of that I found thousands of QQ comments all over the web yelling at rockstar to let you "save" cars.
Like cammon, if it's in online mode (which I don't play), why not put it in SP?
Yea, sometimes I'm lazy and just drive crashing into everything -- taking huge falls and blowing every car up.
My default car will always respawn, and stolen cars, I don't care about.
I'd love to have a car collection, and swap some out -- but I don't want to buy and mod a car spending tons of money to have it explode and money wasted.
Years have passed and no help from rockstar, dispite all the QQ I've found googling.
Maybe mods will save us.
Maybe I'll start playing online after, but I don't see the apeal? does online mode have unlimited solo missions like SP?
The cars you buy and store in a garage are kind of a 50/50 deal.
Most of the time if I buy a car in single player, it lives in the garage and can only see the light of day when the planets align.
If you steal a car and want to keep it, putting it in your garage will only fit a tracker onto it and you will have to take it to the mod shop and manualy fit insurance.
It's worth to note that stolen high end cars (Banshee, Zentorno etc.) can't be stored and must be bought.
When a car is destroyed, you will have to phone Mors Mutual Insurance and have them "repair" it, you can then go and collect it again or have you mechanic bring it to you.
If you die on an epic (sometimes not so epic) police chase, your current car is stored in the impound lot and you will have to go retrieve it manually.
Hopefully this helps someone <3
1) The mod has a bunch of crap I don't need
2) The save system is still not at a reliable level.
You guys answered my questions, thank you -- I guess I either wait for a perfect car mod [If this game's mod community gets as big as skyrim that will be no problem], or RockStar to add car insurance to SP
