GTA 5 pc controller not working

So I pre loaded GTA before launch and had no problems using my batarang controller. A couple days ago, it stopped working. The controller works fine in other games just not in GTA. I've re installed GTA but still the same problem. Any suggestions?

If you go to controller setup / change Keybindings, do your buttons get recognized by the game at all? Maybe one of the updates removed support for this controller or corrupted the config... Try updating the drivers from manufacturer website.

My M$ 360 controller works just fine.which is why i recommend updating drivers.

my buttons dont get recognized at all. I tried the batarang on my friends pc and it works perfectly. and i can't seem to find the drivers for the controller

Actually there are PC controllers.

The problem is that a lot of controllers use Direct Input instead of X Input. X Input is what the Xbox 360 and Xbox 1 controllers use, and some games only read one version or the other.

The best way to fix this is to go out and buy a $30 Logitech F310 gamepad. It has a switch on the back that lets you select which input method you want to use. It's what I'm currently using for GTA V since my other controllers all seem to be Direct Input.

I had this same problem, My solution was to load a previously saved game and it worked right away. I think I saved it with codes on and it made the controller freeze up the next time I went to play. Just load the second to last save game file.

He meant it as "[GTA V PC] Controller not working" Not as "[GTA V] PC Controller not working"

it wont pick up in the gta v gamepad and controller section. not even during calibration

Pretty sure you guys are responding to ghosts... but so am I... steam controller configuration is your problem have to disable it in a painstaking pursuit of settings. Hopefully this will help other future post archaeologists

Is your controller blue tooth? If so did you try uninstalling the controller and reinstalling?
