It just stacks up quick b/c u play that long.
My bandwidth monitor shows me that in larger lobbies I'm almost constantly uploading at my max of ~300kbps. This is a multiple of anything I've ever seen in any other multiplayer game.
I really do feel bad for all the poeple bandwidth capped :/
well, i have capped i-net aswell, sadly we're also paying much and the most over all european countrys for LTE connections (Thats the "LongTermEvolution" over mobile frequencys - in my eyes a sad joke because elektromagnetic waves are pretty much limited in bandwith! - glass fiber cables are a real evolution!) as replacement for the missing or limited ground cable infrastructure - sadly many ppl here do not know, not realize or even just ignore this big pie of sh*t! -.-#
BUT, bandwith usage is a real problem and we have statistics that say ~10% of ppl using ~70% of bandwith while ~90% of ppl need to share the rest ~30% - so i actually am for some sort of fair destribution of the costs (we ignore the fact that the companys are very greedy and can't get enough just for now) based on usage - but limiting ppl in eighter bandwith (tough it's just logical to limit bandwith if bandwith is the problem - at least until you realize that the real problem is bandwith over time!) or data volume (where ppl pay for more, wich is unpracticable because most ppl have no single clue how all that magic works that we call internet! - how should a farmer evaluate the monthly bandwith or data volume he might need without a clue how much he uses - tough he could measure it via tools but c'mon, why we are a sociaty of speciallists if we then force ppl to concern about things they have no clue about?!)
i think the real problem are the companys that "suck" our money like mosquitos!
but as long ppl do not realize it because they have no clue about it that won't change - at least we have a govenrment agency for those issues, but we're also known for the biggest "bureaucracy"/"officialdom" in the world (i needed to translate it xP, and know you know where i#m from - if not, doesn't matter really, could be your country.{that's just the benefit of not being the same}) so it takes decades befor this agency says "ehm, you propably did there something slightly wrong - could you possibly change it or we need to charge you over the curt!"
so yes, we need to stand up a little bit more and just say "no, if you want to keep all those money give us fair internet!" - if we get large enough numbers that just state that we can bring them at least to discussion - sadly, but i do not know how it is in the rest of the world, we have (at least!) 24month postpaid contracts or sligthly more expensive prepaid options (with varying times) - while it is strange that you pay more if you take the costs upfront the postpaid contracts make sure that you can't just leave - idk why that had become the standard but it shows how less ppl care about (network) connections while so dependent on it - thats rather strange for me!
and throw so much money out for overprized contracts and hardware, that cost a fraction of maintenance and production - while i do not want to say it should be non-profit, because that would limit it too! (it just should be reasonable)
we're (at least in my country) are in a state where the companys behind all that infrastructure sits tight and moves only as far as mandatory to maintain or increase there profits - but thats the point, if they risk to loose it THEY MOVE - you the customer can force them to in numbers!)
so if you have that bit of spare time, do what our socyity isn't made for and inform yourself about the technic behind the network infrastructure in your country, spread the word and questions, talk about it - but do not teach, ask! ;-)
(i know i'm terrible at it...)
