Cannot Switch Characters.

I cannot switch characters to do a mission. Ive tried everything.
Left alt doesnt work, I loaded the game, I went into GTA online and tried loading franklin, but i still switched to trevor and I cant do the only missions in which I need franklin.

help? I saw a thread of the rockstar forums, but there was no replies

your "f" keys switch between characters. i think it's f5, f6, and f7. not sure who is who on those keys because i just hit each one until it switches to them lol. i think if you drive to franklins house and hit F6 as long as your not on his property it will switch to him

ok took notice, michael is F5 franklin is F6 and last but not least Trevor is F7

Right after the jewelry store heist you can't switch to Michael or Franklin for a while. Not sure if this applies, just trying to help.

I also cant do missions as the character I play as, I walk up to them, but nope :/

Im way past the jewelry heist. I just got done setting up the paleto bay heist

Im having the same problems right now... im stuck with Michael after mission Blitz Play, i cant start any avaible mission, there is two in the map but the mission desapear when i come near it... also i cant switch my character by any means...

Sounds like you need to go do the FIB Federal Investigation Bureau mission. Is there a blue F on your map? At the observatory? Go meet that guy. He's not on ground level, keep going up stairs and towards the F until you find him a couple stories up from the ground.

The mission marker just desapear when you walk near it.... i have two missions avaible now, S - Soloman and D - Deniz... but cant start any mission... bad news is that Rockstar is not giving a ♥♥♥♥ for this problem... it have been reported 2 years ago by PS3 users and no fix until now... probably they will never fix it

There is a Lester assassination mission and a Devin Weston mission both for Franklin

I have the same issue, I'm stuck as Michael and exiled from the city. When I go to start the next mission at Trevor's trailer Ron is pacing around outside until his animation freezes. I can kill him and nothing happens, walking into the marker at the door does nothing. I've tried everything from collecting peyote and doing activities with Trevor (Franklin comes up busy) but I'm always stuck as Michael even when switching from my online character. I can do almost everything else besides play tennis or do yoga and a few other things.

I don't want to start up a new file not only because it's annoying and a waste of time but also because it'll forfeit my preorder 500k

sorry it didn't help ya, i myself finished the yoga mission and nothin else is happening. one strangers and freaks mission up to the north and when i go there with any character nothin happens. there must be some bugges in the game causing this. this is my first gta game so i am kinda muddling my way around it .

I finished the game on xbox, and I know for sure this is a bug. I wish I could at least get my campaign story completion from xbox back on PC cuz Im trying to get 100% completion

Okay I fixed my problem though the way I did it makes me think that it's pretty specific to the mission you got stuck on.

The last mission I had finished was Military Hardware which I had done as Trevor, though I must have switched to online sometime between the mission ending and the time Trevor was supposed to make a call to Lester to say the mission was done, as I was in a hurry to start an online heist with my friends. After returning from online my character was stuck as Michael so I guess it was broken since Trevor was supposed to make the call to Lester. After trying all of the solutions people had been posting things eventually fixed themselves after I did these things:

First I redid the last mission that I had finished as Trevor through mission replay, however for some reason this time it set me as Michael (it's one of those roaming heist setup missions you can do as whoever). After completing the mission it set me back to my previous state so I figured it didn't do anything, though now I'm sure it actually had a lot to do with the fix.

Next I called Franklin to hang out but he was busy, but calling Trevor actually worked so I hit a couple bars with him since it wouldn't let me start games/missions. After dropping him off I still couldn't switch so I just drove around until eventually I ended up getting killed by the cops. When Michael came to at the hospital he immediately pulled out his phone and called Lester to let him know the military hardware had been delivered and I was able to switch characters and start missions after that. Must have been stuck in post-mission script limbo.

A little wordy, I know, but I hope this information can help you guys out!

Try to set your keyboard settings on default or plug X360 controller if you already have any and try to switch between characters.
