After 34 hours of trying, it still wont work
I played the games fine the first few days, but after the 1.01 patch the game was completely ruined for me.

"ERR_GFX_D3D_INIT"

Corrupt game files.

A breakpoint has been reached.

GTA5.exe has stopped working (both apphang and appcrash)

And these are just a few of the errors Ive been getting. I simply just cant play the game. Many people have similiar issues, and where is the support? Where is the patches? Or rather, why did you patch the game to ruin it in the first place?

Rockstar support obviously dont want to HELP, cause they never have. So if anyone here knows a fix, be sure to let me know, cause Im tired of testing.

Some things Ive tried:

1. Reinstall
2. Changing location on C: drive, and my other (D:) drive.
3. Verifying integrity of game cache.
4. Installing new nvidia drivers.
5. Changing between DX10, 10.1, 11.
6. Launching GTA in safe mode.

Thankful for any ideas.

I read you don't need to get snappy. lol

The things you listed are simple regardless.

Here this will help.

Prime95

http://www.mersenne.org/download/

Edit - it has come to my attention that those of you with Haswell Chips need to do a bit more research before using this. There is a bug they have not yet fixed.

Core Temp

http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/

CPU-z

http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html

Eset nod 32 best Antivirus for gamers

http://www.eset.com/us/download/home/

Memtest

http://www.memtest.org/

Hirens Boot disc (EVERYONE please burn this and keep it incase)

http://www.hiren.info/pages/bootcd

Edit ---- I had all of the issues reported, all of them.

I now believe (MOST) if not all reports about this game having issues is now false. All users must learn to clean and properly use their computers. I Firmly believe that their needs to be a license for using a PC you need to pass.

Long story short make sure your pc is stable and isn't overheating. Use Prime95, memtest. Maybe your power supply isn't giving out power the way it used to; and is causing insability?

Prime95 , and Memtest Test your pc's if your cores/ ram fail then it's your fault not the game.

If you didn't already have these things installed and more on the first day of use with your PC you DO NOT deserve to use it,... period. Just like Flash, VLC, WinRar, Firefox/Chrome etc..
I know it sounds harsh but it's a harsh world we live in.

Admittedly it's more Intels fault for setting up the CPUs instructions to Overvolt like this, but I wouldn't just blindly throw a Stress test on my computer and just let it run. Do a little studying about the programs before using them and I wouldn't go recommending programs that'll stress your PC that much unless you built your computer yourself.

No it isn't, you have to factor in the general condition of the PC in question.

Does the HD have bad sectors?
Is it horribly fragmented?
Does it need a disk-check & repair?
Is it infested with malware?
Are there more than one security softwares installed and conflicting?
Is the RAM faulty?
Is the system clogged with dust and overheating?

etc... etc...

The min reqs are just the start.

Yes, I have. I have tried it manually, and also by switching to DX10 (which turns it off aswell).

Try re-installing Direct X. Your getting a direct 3d error which is part of Microsofts Direct X api. This error is pretty common when direct x files have been deleted or over written.

Install directX from the GTAV Folder

I wasnt trying to be snappy lol.

The thing is, I ran the game completely fine before the patch. How could my PC change from a GTA patch? Ive had my PC for 2 years and Ive never had any problems with any games.
Atleast no problems I couldnt solve easily.
Ive already looked on temps and how the PC performs, and nothing seems wrong.
Would any of what you posted still solve anything?

I'm not quoting all of that above lol but.

Sometimes your PC may switch settings in the Bios, or maybe there was an auto update and your pc shut down during and you were asleep many things.

Test your System with memtest86 and lower your oc settings...this helped me a lot...2 days of playing without any crashes.

Ive already tested my system with memtest, and I dont have any oc.
Yucatan Apr 26, 2015 @ 12:24pm
any errors on memtest ? or was everything fine ?
Joriel Apr 26, 2015 @ 12:28pm
i always got that error when my graphic ram was overclocked too high, so either your OC is too high or if its stock your gfx cards could be faulty
