Missing Letter Scraps
Has anyone else had trouble finding the letter scraps for the Lenora Johnson mission? I've completed the main story, found the 50 space ship parts etc but when I go to find the letters they are not appearing in multiple locations. I've tried multiple charecters, I've read the website about the case and I've tried reloading an old save file but nothing seems to be working :/

Okay I started a new game and the letters are still not there. I collected letters before the update. Looks like the game is now broke. Thank god not my savegame. I hope R* would fix that in the next update.

Having the same problem. Just finished the story missions and was going to wrap up sidequest and collectibles. Unforunately none of the letters are spawning where youtube videos show them to be. Apparently a news report was suppose to happen after the first Tonya mission, but I apparently missed that.

Unfortunately for the people who have finished "Pulling Favors" you were suppose to listen to the radio AFTER the mission and wait for a news report about the letter scraps. I have started a new game and confirmed this. Seems like this was a problem on the consoles too so probably no patch anytime soon. Best thing to do is probably just make a new game and grind away.

Are you kidding I got 97%. It would take me another 50 hours to come this far. And I started a new game too. To test it but i coundn't find any in the new savegame?

You have to finish the first tow truck mission with Tonya then drive around with the radio on and listen to the news to come one talking about the letter scraps for them to appear.

There may be hope though. According to this guide, http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=425479768, you only need to finish 16 out of the 30 miscellaneous task listed to get 100%.

Will try my best on that on report back. So you would just be missing the achievement and you could just make a new game just to get the achievement.

But I already collected some letters. These means they where here and then they just disappeared.

After Joevrage comment I played it until Pulling Favors. And the letters are now visible. Either our savegame is broken or we can't collect the letters after a mission. So I am asking you guys do someone of you got a 99% savegame? I want the 100% achievement without playing the whole game again. I tried with a 100% savegame which can be found online but none of this sites got a 99% savegame.

EDIT: I found one and got the 100% achievement. You just need to jump (Megastunt) with Franklin through the japanese structor. Here is the savegame: http://gtasnp.com/RFE8Pn

Confirmed this earlier by starting a new game, hearing the radio broadcast and then finding some of the letters. Man this is frustrating. I've sent off a ticket to Rockstar support I hope they find a way to rectify this. I'd rather not start form the beggining or have multiple incomplete playthoughs just to get the steam achievements.

Looks like the hope is gone. I have finished every misc task but the letter scraps and unable to get 100% because you have to do the specific 16 listed on the misc task, so looks like you can either use a save file (can't find one for the letter scraps yet) for the 100% completion and find the letter scraps on a seperate save file or just start over.

I just collected all 50 from a random save file to share with everyone who got screwed. Loading this one and then the one alike03 posted will at least give us the achievements we deserve.

I found them all.

Use the map in the social club and then this link helped with some of the ones that were a bit harder to find. Also when you get close you'll hear the paper flapping. Hope it helps.

Thanks alike03 and Joevrage it looks like I'll be taking advantage of these save files to complete the story. I've been in chats with Rockstar support the whole time about this and progress is slow. I sent this email on April 29th :

"Hi there! I'm playing GTA 5 and loving it so far. I've gotten to 85% completion, including all the spaceship parts, stunt jumps and nuclear waste. But when I went to collect the letter scraps for the Lenora Johnson case I couldn't find them. Tried multiple locations, with different characters, re-read the website about her all to no avail.

I've done some searching online and it seems there is an news broadcast on the radio just after completing 'Pulling Favours' for Tonya that describes the case and activates the letters (Confirmed by starting a new save game just to test this). I must have missed this is my previous main game, turned off the radio or jumped straight into another mission and now I have no way of collecting the letter scraps. I've worked hard to get to 85% and I'll be devastated if I have to start a new game and grind everything back to where I am now just to get the letters. Other wise I miss the letters, miss that achievement, and therefore 100% completion.

Is there any way I can activate the letters after missing that news update, through the website or something? I would really like to not have to start the game all over again.

Today, after many emails back and forth I recieved this email from support:

"Hello,

Thank you for providing the screenshots.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused. In order to fix these issues, all you have to do is, complete the last 2 SImeon missions - "Repossession" and "Complications" and then do the first Strangers & Freaks mission for Tonya called "Pulling Favors" at the some point during this mission, you should hear a news report on the radio mentioning the Leonora Johnson case. After you hear that, you should be able to find the scraps.
