How to skip the torture scene?

It is so unreasonable to make players play a mini game where you torture somebody..... How to skip it?

Just stumbled on this thread and read the first three pages before I skipped to the end.

I'm sure the thread followed much the sasme theme from the first few pages so if I am managing to repeat what someone else has said, calll it validation for that first person.

I will agree with everyone who says that the torture scene is uncomfortable viewing. I found myself hating that part of the game each time I have done it. The first time was the most uncomfortable until I progressed past that mission. I listened to the dialogue that Trevor has afterwards. Without spoiling it for anyone, there's a real position that the creators of GTA have taken and while that part of the game is uncomfortable (to put it mildy) it is a characature of torture and not really actually torture. They have used is as a "shock and awe" moment to drive home a greater point which is completely valid. Also, it gives you more isight as to how Trevor thinks.

The most important point to note is that GTA has always been an extreme characature of the most extreme parts of pop culture. (good example was the reverend from San Andreas who wanted to build a huge statue of himself to blast into space when the apocolypse hit - Pastor Richards?)

While we may think that politics should be kept out of video games, it's as valid a platform as any other mass media which has storytelling at it's roots. GTA is telling a story which will always be affected by the politics of the people writing the story.

Knowing Rockstar humor, I think they created the torture scene in order to tell the story of how far Trevor, one of the main characters in the game, will go to please his friends. Actually it's a sad story. Nobody wanted to torture the guy, so they set up poor Trevor do it. Also, much like real life, in a twisted way, it's their way of saying to the player that people will do things like this to socially tie you in with their warped sense of right and wrong, a sort of social contract or trust exercise, that is what you should take from this.

I was surprised to find so many insensitive/naive responses from so many people. That's quite stupid to assume that what we see is just a bunch of color polygons and the player should 'grow balls and stop whining' about the torture scene. We keep receiving more and more realistic games, the characters are interesting, their reactions and emotions are perfected on both audio and visual side. This 'bunch of color polygons' represents specific person, with history, emotions etc. and player bounds emotionally with it (I still love Tali'Zorah from Mass Effect).
Throughout out the game we're doing a lot of bad things: bullying, stealing, shooting and so on, but there's a line at which I feel far too uncomfortable to keep playing. I like this game very much, it's cool but I will stop at this point and go play something else.

For those who are still unconvinced and think that we should just go with it, because it's just a 'video game' please imagine the following:
You have a mission where you kidnap little girl from the school, then you must torture her (pull out nails, burn skin, pour acid etc.) then kill her and eat her corpse. Would you still consider this is 'just a game' and complete the mission ? If yes, then you have a serious problem and should visit a doctor.

You can murder people, run them over, steal their cars, rob a bank, but you can't torture someone? Grow up kid.

Yes, have you actually read my post ? there's quite a difference between shoting someone from the distance, which kills them almost instantly and torturing them with all audio/visual effects while he begs for mercy. If you can't see the difference then I think that YOU should grow up.
We can always push this further, we can start raping, create a child molesting group, dug up graves and eat cadavers, where would you like to stop ? As I mentioned, there's a certain line at which I feel to uncomfortable to keep playing.

The NPCs beg for mercy when you are about to shoot them, but you don't stop for a second. Same ♥♥♥♥.
