HELP!! GTA V Lag/Stutter while DRIVING ONLY.
GTA V runs absolutely fine on my PC without any faults what so ever. That is up until i start driving fast. This is where the stutter/lag comes in. All of my drivers are up to date and i have downloaded the driver beta specifically for GTA V. I was wondering if anybody has had this problem and has found a solution. Some have suggested putting directx down from 11 to 10. Others have suggested turning off anti virus.

Since i bought this game i have had nothing but bother with it. I have 5+ hours on record and that 5 hours is literally me faffing on with the graphics settings due to lag. I thought maybe i would need to lower them, but no, i even get lag and stutters on the lowest settings! All of my drivers are up to date and even downloaded the driver specifically optimised for GTA V.. Still lagging. I only seem to Lag and stutter online ( so far ) when i am driving fast but i seem to lag when driving and sometimes even walking in story mode! It's highly annoying. I am running the game on an AMD FX-9370 4.40GHz processor and an AMD Radion R9 290 4GB graphics card with 8GB RAM. This is totally unacceptable and a waste of £39.99. Many people have this stutter/lag issue and many others do not. I shut off all background processes also when i play the game so it's not that either. I'm hoping Rockstar come up with a patch sooner than later, but until then i won't be wasting any more time on it.

Use adaptive vsync instead of the ingame Vsync option. That or just turn it off all together. Also, turning soft shadows down to "softer" helped me.

You must have AMD hardware then. If that's the case, it's your own damn fault.

I don't believe you.
Not asking you to believe me or not. Just saying that i've ran it with Vsync off and shadows are set to softer by default but still, lag.

Glad to hear it man. Hate all these bad mouthers about AMD when even people with Intel and Nvidia have the issues

Play with an older Radeon HD 7800 Series, so dont say "You must have AMD hardware then. If that's the case, it's your own damn fault." i punish the most of you GTX players with our 30-60 FPS i got 90-120 so take your GTX to Trash.

Try to find a (optimized) Setting

It really sucks for the people who get this problem, I just don't understand why some do and some don't. My brother in law has the same machine as me and he runs it no problem..

Hey man i've tried the optimized setting but still, lag. I'm gonna try unplugging my controller and see if that helps in any way. It's the last thing i can try so.. Fingers crossed.

it does this because it is choking on writes to the systems page file.
