Black Screen on Start up
Whenever I start the game it goes to the social club page and signs me in, but when the game starts running all I get is a black window and then it crashes. How do I fix this?

The last patch screwed up my game, and now I'm having the same exact issue. My game's been uplayable for 3 or 4 days now. Tried doing a complete reinstall of both social club and GTAV. No luck. I've already sent a support ticket to Rockstar. I suggest doing the same.

I fixed my problem.

This is my solution:
Open the file settings.xml with the texteditor. (located in: documents/Rockstargames/GTA V).
Change DXversion value="2" to DXversion value="0"
Then launch the game

Try this if your running Intel and AMD combo it worked for me. After spending hours back and fourth with rockstar support they couldn't help me useless. But this video fixed it and it only took me a couple of minutes. Its more of a workaround but at least I can play the game instead of waiting for a patch that fixes it, which could take just as long as the game did to come out. Try it you will be pleasantly surprised. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8c17CTB_IE

OK if you haven't fixed it I found this it solved it for me it isn't a fix but it allows you to play

Ok so when the screen goes black click the red cross and a notice should come up saying if you want to quit click no and it starts

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
