Anyone else issues with Norton when playing GTA?

Since today I get stutters sometimes and 1 time a crash and sometimes slow texture loading. I notice that the issue is caused by Norton security suite. It starts to do live updates in the background and other cpu intensive stuff. When I look at the task history I see that Norton claims my PC is inactive (and thus performs cpu intensive tasks) while playing GTA. This was not happening till yesterday.

Just curious if there are other Norton users that have this as well. And for the ones having stutters and stuff in general.. have you checked if it's not caused by your anti-virus or other active program on the background like in my case?

Where are you from? maybe EU players are ♥♥♥♥ or maybe rockstar doesn't matter about EU players..

I might be missing something, but how is a continent on which the OP lives related to textures streaming slowly into his game?

i played with norton and my game did not work, then i got rid of norton and the game works fine. happy to help

Any type of antivirus software constantly scanning the game files in use is going to produce ISSUES. Turn off your AV's while gaming, people, or at least utilize it's Quiet/Gaming mode.

It runs fine, it was just a matter of a few clicks in Norton. It's actually because Norton never has any issues I wrote the topic. Normally Norton automatically turns off any active task and goes low profile when you are using a lot of cpu (and did so with GTA), but yesterday it didn't.. so I turned off the updates manually. And again, stop derailing the topic. I want to delete this topic as it apparently just attracts toxic players, but it wont let me unfortunately.

Norton is terrible. 10 years in I.T. professionally for multi-million dollar companies speaking from experience. I've never ONCE seen a company actually deploy that software internally.

You aren't suppose to use Norton, especially on a gaming machine. It eats all your resources up. It never was good, just popular. You know like how Walmart is popular but it's a piece of ♥♥♥♥. Use AVG Free instead.
