Need Help: Can't Swim...

Maybe my controls are ♥♥♥♥♥♥, maybe I just suck, but I can't figure it out: Please tell me the proper way to swim in GTA V PC. Thanks.

Space to dive, shift + direction to swim. Note swimming forward and S bring you up.

Space for diving, hold shift to swim, W to swim down, S to swim up. A and D is left and right.

swimming in first person mode is a bit easier. Holding shift to swim and mouse to steer.

Ooh I hadn't actually tried that yet.

W and shift to swim forward on the surface. If youre under water, just hit shift to swim forward, as the W and S will makes you swim up and down.

Yeah you have to hold shift to swim then use directions, up an down actually caught me off too seems it's almost inverted to me.

Yea, died half a dozen times trying to figure out how to swim. Most PC games with swimming, you use the mouse to control and or jump/crouch buttons but not in gta v apparently. Like flying, swimming has made a poor transition to pc and is better done using a game pad.
