Vram usage/limit isnt correct
Using a Geforce GTX 660Ti. Intel core i5-3470 @ 3.20GHz. 8GB Ram.

The in-game Vram bar shows i'm using 1600 of the 2047. 2047?? Where the fk did the game come up with that? I dont have 2047 i think.:/ Using high settings with Tessalation off and vsync off. Getting 27-70 fps. All drivers up to date. Still no fix for steady fps or correct Vram amount?

It really doesn't matter that much about that reading, it's just 1MB out.

Anyway, try to use less than 1.5GB. Since the 660ti is similar to the 970, in that it's less than ideal for it to use more than 1.5GB of VRAM

I have a 660Ti with 2GB VRAM so 2047 should be correct unless you have the 3GB version.
it should be 3 y. Any idea how to improve my Vram without buying another videocard?

You can't "improve" vram without upgrading

Turn down settings that use Vram, population variety, texture quality ect.
So i need to buy a 2nd graphics card if i want more Vram?

No, VRAM doesn't stack like that.

Sorry, I didn't realise you had the 3GB version
Hm... Guess i'm gonna spend my next paycheck on a better videocard then:) Thx for tips

Well are you absolutely sure it's the 3GB version of the 660ti?

The game should read the full 3GB even though the game displays it wrong.
You can however edit the preferences_script file so that the game displays the correct VRAM but I doubt it will have an impact on performance.

This is how you do it;

The preferences_script file should be in the GTA V game folder located in C:\Users\(User name)\AppData\Roaming\

When you open the preferences_script look for a line called

gfx_video_memory 0

change that to

gfx_video_memory 3221225472 and save it. Now it should display the correct VRAM ingame.

Edit: Make sure it's the 3GB version before you do this.

So it should be able to use more than the 2047 it says it have? I should just ignore the bar than?

Yes, but if you want the visual representation to be correct then go ahead and change the script file.

Yeah, that's what I'd do.

But I'd also just make double sure it's the 3GB version with GPUz or nvidiainspector, especially if you bought the card second hand etc

You could always use cpu-z just to double check, incase someone sold you a 2gb card in a 3gb box

More likley the games just displaying it wrong though, odd though because no one else has reported this issue before AFAIK :s
I got the card from a local computer store where a friend works so im sure its the good one ( gonna call him to double check though ;d ). Guess i'm just gonna continue playing with these settings as it is not unplayable and i'm always worried about tinkering with graphics on a so far unstable game for some. Thx for the info though!
