First person only playthrough?
Just wondering if anyone has done a story playthrough exclusively in first person, without ever switching to third person, even when flying or anything. I guess I will make my next playthrough 1st person only to see how that feels. So anyone done it and enjoyed it? And how did you manage to do missions where you have to pick up stuff with a cargobob, did you switch to 3rd person or is it doable in first person by guessing?

I did the story in first person about 99% with the 1% being swapping to 3rd person for cargobob and other minor things.

I wanted to but personally found the FOV a bit too narrow to play for long periods of time like that.

They have a FOV slider for that in the settings.

At its highest it is still too low for me.

Yeah thats what I think as well. I like the animation in first person when entering vehicles and such. Feels almost like a completely new game. Also when you pull out your phone its more immersive cause you have the phone directly in front of you in your hands instead of it being an UI element.

I tried that, but I broke it almost imediately trying to catch Jimmy like 4 missions in.

I always use 1st person.

When you first blow through a red light and just barely miss passing traffic in 1st person, then you'll understand why it's so awesome.

Probably going to do it sometime..for now, I'm just switching between the views depending on what I feel like using.

Almost a completely different game honestly. But the max FoV needs to be higher especially when in a vehicle. I wish it was all the way to 120 to please everyone. 95 is my sweet spot.

Everyone complaining about the FoV and I'm mostly happy with what the max gives me...the only game that really made my head hurt with its FoV was Borderlands 1. Good GOD, it's like 55 or 60 horizontal. GTA5 feels more like...65 or 70. In the range of tolerable for me.

At least it doesn't make me dizzy so that's good. But not everyone is the same. I still wish it was higher. I have a friend who can only play at 100 or higher or he gets motion sickness :/

It's all about options. Numbers would be nice too.
SubTonic Apr 22, 2015 @ 6:07pm
Yeah, it'd be nice to have the option for others. I'd appreciate being able to achieve 85, since that's my personal sweet spot with this monitor.

I tried, but I find the third person camera much more usefull. The level of immersion you get with the first person camera is undeniable though, even with the low FoV.
