Losing $500 Upon Death (Including bank account currency)
During online play, I have noticed that I lose $500 from my bank account when I die. I don't see the point in this, especially during the times when I simply want to mess around with friends. Hopefully we will see a solution soon?
I'm most likely overreacting and making a huge deal about nothing, but IMO $500 every death adds up and makes me feel restricted.

There is one, don't die if that's not possible create a second character and have them withdraw all your money, then when you die... you lose nothing.

There already is, deposit your money in the bank.

I have deposited all my money into my bank account. In fact, it has become a habit. This still happens.

"Don't die" This completely defeats the purpose of "messing around." Making a completely new character is not a solution either, because why would it be?
The point is, I'm not a competitive player and I don't value my character as I would a Tamagotchi or some World Of Warcraft character. Creating a penalty for every death that occurs makes me feel very limited in the amount of fun I should have while playing.

You do realize that any money in your bank doesn't get removed if you die right? That's the whole point of banking your cash, so you don't lose any when you die. Even still, 500 is chump change when you can easily get 10-15x that amount in missions.

Money or your person drops, up to $500
Money in your bank does not.

If you choose the kill yourself option you will notice it says $500 if you are holding money, it says $0 if you aren't. Make a habit of depositing the money you have on hand in to your bank constantly.

Be glad you missed out on the original Hospital costs, it used to charge us up to $5000 per death, in bank or not.

That amount of money adds up considerably, especially if I plan on carelessly driving down a mountain in a motorcycle. And even moreso if I want to try to interact with other players who happen to have a trigger finger. I just don't see a point in such a penalty.

Yes, you still lose $500 from your bank account if you die. Next time you play, check your money counter, die, then check again. The red "-$XXX" text may not appear, but it does happen anyway. I deposit my money all the time.

Weird, I don't lose money, but I do drop a bit of ammo if holding a gun.

You do lose money. For example, I was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around and died quite a bit by kamikaze attacking people with planes.
I checked my bank and I was down about 6K.

This is exactly what I'm referring to. I personally find such a functionality unneccessary simply for this reason.

So what you're saying is, you want no consequences for dying or losing whatsoever? You want a no skill invovled always-win experience? Does that even constitute a game anymore?

Seriously though, bank your money. You don't lose anything. Even if I'm wrong, it's chump change.

Again, wrong. You do lose money from your bank account.
And again, I want a game that doesn't penalise me for having fun or being wreckless. I don't usually participate in random deathmatches within free mode, but I do enjoy driving on motorcycles at high speeds. I don't wish to lose the virtual currency I earned simply because I didn't press A or D in time to avoid a tree.

Again, even if you are losing $500, it's a far cry from the 2-5k you used to get hit with back in the day.
Considering that payouts back then were not even half of the current setup, you could literally lose 50k in one little shootout and spend days scraping it back with more deaths on top.

You have a valid point! I am thankful for that.
