Please help! Missing CD key issue with GTA V!!
I purchased Grand Theft Auto V yesterday and it showed up the CD key, but now when I'm downloading, there is no option to view the CD key, I've tried to access the CD key using the big picture mode but it shows no CD key, I've also tried hiding my IP and accessing Steam from another PC, what to do now? Please help, or my 60 bucks will be ruined!:pandashocked:

He means to grow a pair of children, because only when you grow a pair if children you'll have the life figured out.

But I started the first time download, then cancelled and deleted the local content and then redownloading it, right now, and when I started redownloading, the CD key was vanished! So is it a problem? And can I download GTA V on another PC and then backup it through Steam and then restore the backup to my PC?

It doesn't matter where you install your game. When you first launch the game, you have to login to your Rockstar Social Club account. Then it will ask you if you want the steam product linked to it. You only do this once. From there on you can download the game on any computer as long as you are using your steam account/R* social club.

Your CD has not vanished. I already told you, it links it automatically. Get this information through your thick skull into your brain please. You are asking the same question over and over.

Last time answering this, for the fifth time, you don't need to bother with CD-key at all, it is not a problem :)
You should be able to back it up and restore the backup with no issues. But making a backup and restoring it can be pretty time-consuming, mainly in a game big like this, so just so you know. It could take additional hours to backup/restore.

Thanks bro, actually I was so scared, that's why I acted so dumb, please don't mind!

Don't worry, some people just use a person's humanity against them to compensate for their own issues.

For future reference if you're on your steam account you can download and install any of your games onto any PC. Steam handles all the side work to get the game running. Furthermore, once you install and run GTA V you'll get a pop up in steam displaying your CD key. You can disable this popup or leave it. It's just for your information, as you'll never have to enter it when using steam.

You know. I'm having this problem too. I could see the key, but now I can't, there is no option... Maybe the Rockstar hack attemp lead to a temporal disable of this feature so it can't be stealed, IDK...

Hey guys, but a friend of mine can still see the CD key, so why this happens?

I can't see my cd key either, i think steam removed that option. You'll have to contact steam support and wait 2 weeks for them to reply, lel.

Its not an option anymore, i remember seeing it a few days ago.

I got the same problem as you. Yesterday I could view it and now the option is gone. I checked the box "dont show this on startup" as I launched the game, so the popup with the CD Key doesn't show everytime I start the game. But I thought I could still view it in my Library when right-clicking GTA5. Maybe you'll have to delete the local content and intall the game again? But I don't want to download 59GB again... isn't there an Steam launch command to show this popup cd-key-box again?

So, I have to wait two weeks for this game, and is contacting Steam support a good idea?

Bro Vay, I think we're both completely screwed up!

And I tried deleting local contents but nothing happens!
