It doesn't matter where you install your game. When you first launch the game, you have to login to your Rockstar Social Club account. Then it will ask you if you want the steam product linked to it. You only do this once. From there on you can download the game on any computer as long as you are using your steam account/R* social club.
Your CD has not vanished. I already told you, it links it automatically. Get this information through your thick skull into your brain please. You are asking the same question over and over.
You should be able to back it up and restore the backup with no issues. But making a backup and restoring it can be pretty time-consuming, mainly in a game big like this, so just so you know. It could take additional hours to backup/restore.
For future reference if you're on your steam account you can download and install any of your games onto any PC. Steam handles all the side work to get the game running. Furthermore, once you install and run GTA V you'll get a pop up in steam displaying your CD key. You can disable this popup or leave it. It's just for your information, as you'll never have to enter it when using steam.
