There are no visual differences untill you max the settngs out. DirectX 11 can handle more visual stuff (that's why there's stuff locked away if you don't have DirectX 11 selected).

(I've just noticed the shadows)

First thing that pops into my head would be tesselation is DX11 feature.
Admit i have not watched the clip but look for tesselation.

DX11 performance is much better than DX10.

So far the only thing I know to be tesselated is the palm trees. maybe some ground surfaces, but might be paralax occlusion mapping?

GabeN pretty much says it all. I'll just add DX11 also has potential for better performance generally, but that depends on how it's used. From what I've seen it's not the case with GTA V.

Yes, it might be better multi threaded

90% of the difference isn't about what you can see. Dx11 makes it possible to have a much higher polygon count without taking massive performance hits among other things.

So , since i have bad PC, and play on lowest settings possible, whick DX is the best for me?
Axion Apr 20, 2015 @ 2:04pm
Yes Direct x 11 has tesselation too.

You won't be able to handle Dx 11. Stick to DX 10

I see softer shadows and less ridged edges.

From what i have read the only really big difference for DX11 is Tessellation and built in high-res texture features.

Here is some interesting info. http://www.nvidia.com/object/tessellation.html

My CPU doesnt even meet the requirements but it's still playable. What about DX 10.1 what is deal with that?

In theory yes. But try yourself. I have i7 4c/8t and all threads get loaded with DX10 DX10.1 DX11.

This game is multithreaded despite the DX version.

Isn't DX10 no longer supported by windows?
Catay Apr 20, 2015 @ 2:28pm
I was crashing when I switched to DX10. So I switched back to DX11 and the crashes stopped. I heard DX10.1 fixes the crashes, but really there's no difference.

I have a GTX 680.
