GTAV - best game ever?
I know it's a matter of preference but If you can name a game that's better in your opinion tell us why and give us good reasons why GTAV is not better than it.

The story mode is awesome, one of the few games to truly entertain me in fact. The online part though is one of the worst gaming experiences I’ve ever had. I used to think WoW was full of immature, idiotic players with nothing better to do than screw with other players but GTA online is way worse. Every job requires you to team up with other players who ruin the experience. Players should be able to choose to play alone even when online and not have to deal with other players. As of right now I don’t believe the game is worth the price due to half of it being borderline unplayable and not enjoyable. The online part has no real story or depth and between that and the idiots who ruin the game for you by randomly attacking you and ruining any fun in jobs, then their isn’t anything to grip your attention and keep you playing. Bottom line, the story mode is great but the online mode is horrible and should be avoided.

Find people to play with. Join a crew.

Remember IRL you won't find much friends with 31 random people which you are forced to co-op with. Hell it would be like prison

Ive been gaming since back in the old Spectrum days. GTA V is IMO, the best video game ever made. Period.

I've been gaming since Atari 2600 and Vectrex lol. Street Fighter 2 is the greatest game ever made.

And the map...really? GTA4 was nothing but a boring, drab, grey NYC. Felt completely lifeless.
Liberty City is definitely better than Los Santos. And much bigger. Gameplay was boring. But map wasn't.

this one is on par with SA, both have their magic for me, and nostalgia is very strong with SA.
i think i could put this in my top ten, next to HL2, portal 2, skyrim, x com EU, dragon age origins and some others i dont remember now.

Not really!
GTA 5 made it to my "top something" already. But there are quite a few others for me, from different or similar genres and from different or similar ages which share the "top something" position.
Mafia 1, Fallout 1+2 (NOT 3+NV), Planescape: Torment, Batman: Arkham series to name some.

It is better than 5. Fact

No, that's your opinion (and an unsubstantiated one at that). Something does not become a "fact" just because you say the word.

Opinions are not facts.

More unsubtantiated opinion.

I dont know how it can be the best story honestly. They're in it for the money, to get rich.

I haven't gotten that far into the main story just yet, but it feels to me like that while money is one obvious motivation, each has other motives as well. Franklin is young and looking to make a name for himself, while Michael's looking for a rush and way out of his stale and boring life.

GTA V is definitely my favorite GTA so far (and I've actually played all of them, since the very first top-down GTA).
GTA IV was a lot of fun too, especially free roaming the big city. It's the only thing I kinda miss in GTA V.
Other then that, I find the story much more enjoyable and the open-world multiplayer a lot of fun. The different activities, the heists and just a complete open-world with very fun A.I., I like it :)

I'll definitely be revisiting Los Santos a bunch more times over the next months at times when ESO, GW2 and 7D2D just don't cut it ;)

San Andreas is better
EU4. A game that values skill, and offers a meaningful onlinemode. Prolly the only strategy game in which playing with randoms is honestly classified as fun. Since you cant really rush.

If you are not willing to deal with others, you will very quickly get your ass beat by everyone.
The community is also fairly small, so you get a reputation. And you often end up playing with the same blokes.

I would definitely classify GTA5 as one of the best, but not the best. Without a doubt, it is the best GTA game ever made, with Vice City creeping right behind. For me thought, games like Morrowind, Deus Ex, Mass Effect fall under best games ever. But I have no problem saying GTA5 is at least within the top 10.

Red Dead Redemption is the best game Rockstar's ever made. GTA V is still amazing, though. As far as "best game ever", that's a hard sell in any circumstance. The sheer variety makes it nearly impossible to set up some sort of universal scale. Lovin' it, though.

What? You serious, mate? LMAO!

Still, though, that is actually possible. Play a solo 'online' open-world. Just the races and everything else will still involve player team mates and/or opponents.

Technically done by different game developers though, although you can see the developers who make GTA defintely got some good ideas from the team behind RDR, like the weapon wheel :)

I still conclude GTA:SA to be the best GTA ever, I much preffer the old engine, I find it more comical, and the universe to the game just feels more gripping, also SA has local co-op, which was heavily over-seen by alot but cherished by others such as myself since 2004
