Go to settings, Gamepad, Find out what they have set for their targetting, set yours to match.

its not a problem, when you want to join a friend, if he is on eaim-assist server and you are on "free-aim" it will chang your targeting mod to aim-assist. to back your target mod, you need to go on single player and chang it on gamepad

Like was said earlier, you can change your settings permanently while you're in single player. In Online, the option is is grayed out.

Bad porting imo. If you have no controller, you still get bothered by this all the time. And yes only in SP can you change it. No biggie though, just another annoying and totally useless dialog to add to the loading screens.

I love this. Set to aim assited partial and use a translator to mimic controllers using keyboard and mouse and start owning mouse users that have set the same setting but don't actually benefit from aim asisted.

You get matched online with the people with the same targeting mode, there for you can not change it in the session you are in (that has that targeting mode).

To change it you have to be in single player, options, settings, controls and change it to the setting you prefer for online. Then get back to online.

The setting will be on ASSISTED AIM by default. When I transferred my ps3 character to pc all my friends were playing on assisted aim while they were meaning to play with FREE AIM.

My guess is that most people are unaware that they play with assisted aim while they think they are playing or should be playing with free aim since they play with mouse and keyboard only.

As you see in the reply of CantF3elMyF4ceTehWeekend, some people use this to their benefit to people unaware they have assisted aim on and are free aiming on a assisted aim server.

Make sure you and your friends all have the same aiming mode!
If one friend has another aiming mode and you join his session, it will be changed to the aiming mode he has.

The problem I am having with this message it that I will accept the targetting change but it will throw me into a random lobby instead of allowing me to join on a friend. Sooooo WTF?
