Internet disconnect

Does anyone else disconnect or have internet crash while playing online? my wireless internet plugs into my USB port if that has anything to do with it?
Also i do not have this issue outside of GTA 5 and no one else in my house loses internet, so it is not my internet provider or router.

I have the same problem. no idea what the problem is thats causing this, but it does happen to me, found out when playing with friends on skype, and i got disconnected from the server, and skype went down for abit. however only on my end no one else, it doesnt happen on any other game i have. hope they fix this soon

Yup, same here. What's your network card? Mine's ASUS pce-ac56 on my 5ghz channel, just curious if this may be part of the prob.

It crashes my entire internet. What i do is unplug and USB (for my wireless internet) and plug it back in, and it resets. but you still have the issue of the disconnect.

When I had a USB adapter, some games overheated it(or something) and caused it to stop responding, so I switched to a internal card. But this is the only game giving me a problem with this card.

I've seen Steam in the background cause USB ports to go off and on, usually when installing something.

Having the exact same issue. I play with wifi card and cannot connect via ethernet. It kills my internet for about 20 seconds which kicks me off skype too.

Yeah, this is really annoying, sometimes my modem crashes too.

Sooo I only just suddenly out of the blue developed the same issue, I lag out and disconnect constandly and at that time my internet is suddenly massively slowed down, it takes a bit ot recover, its not the router because other devices in the house still have full speed.

Its as if this game uses up so much of my internet that it completely stresses it out and it needs some time to recover, atleast on the computer Im playing it on.

Same issue here, on brand new gaming laptop. Disconnects from wifi after starting up online when there is no reason to, crazy.

Still isn't fixed. I have random disconnects from online which cause my Skype to disconnect as well. Strange thing is that before skype disconnects I am able to hear the others talk with a laggy voice, but they can't hear me. Then it actually drops and reconnects after a few seconds. Really annoying when it happens in heists.
This only happens while playing GTA 5.

A friend of mine has this exact same issue. He uses a USB wifi adapter and this issue appeared for him out of thin air. It recently happened at the end of of a heist, and he almost lost his ♥♥♥♥.

So from what I gather, this is a problem with people using USB Wifi Adapters. Rockstar, pls fix.
