Disable camera auto-center?

Whenever I use the mouse to move the camera, it back to the normal position directly behind the car. I find this very annoying, as I already know how to move the camera myself.

Is there a way to disable the camera auto-centering "feature" while driving in GTA5?

There is an option that doesn't works. your best shot would be set the aiming to toggle and drive aiming your gun. then it will stop restarting your camera position, but then it will alert all npcs around and they will randomly drive into you and if there is a random cop driving around they will shot at you.

just use unarmed and you'll flip people off instead

Strange.

I just had this issue today in a helicopter, trying to fly around and spot ufo parts on top of buildings; the damn camera always auto centers. I fly with a XBox controller. Really annoying.

But in a car, using M/KB, the camera never resets to behind the car, and I love it. It is like driving IRL; you scan around center for traffic, or to see a turn you are coming up on. Giving up the controller ability to smoothly turn is totally worth it for that mouselook. I did not change anything in options. Seems the OP and others have the opposite for some reason.

drives me nuts when I am flying a heli and trying to turn around but momentum keeps telling the camera to face the way i was going rather than the way im trying to go... its like the camera becomes self aware and is actively fighting me. they really need to let us turn off auto camera.

Make sure you set your in-game mouse mode to Windows! Still works for me 99% of the time...

Toggle the (in)active state with the Pause key on your keyboard while the tool is running.

The only thing that this will do is give small mouse adjustments which makes the game believe you have moved your mouse, thus canceling the auto center crap... have fun :)

Hi looking for a solution for this as well. Cant find a way to turn off camera auto centering in third person cars. It is really annoying and my experience would be much better if I could disable it. Someone let me know? Thanks!
