memory usage
Hello,
How this game manages to use 6.5GB of ram? When I play longer, bigger usage. Today had a crash because of low memory...
How is it possible? I have 8GB... Probably bugged...

this....I'm sure its relatively common with this game, just users with more memory probably dont notice as much.

It is NOT a memory leak. It just needs more ram. I have 16gb ram, usage hits 9-10gb max, then stops, i can play all day without crashing. 8gb is just not quite enough.

this game has big memory leak problems.. Im hoping they will fix this, Its impossible to play with my 4GB RAM for more than 40min.. even tho its min.system req.

Yeah they should either edit the requirements or try to somehow limit ram usage. It's not leaking thats a fact, because it eventually stops taking more ram. I guess it just thinks you have more ram, tries to use it and causes a crash, probably fixable.

But ppl should know that a 'Memory Leak' is when a game or program takes INFINITE amounts of ram, no matter how much, and eventually crashes. GTA 5 only takes 10gb max or so, it's not infinite amounts so should not be considered a memory leak.

When they tested minimum requirements they probably logged in for 10-15 minutes and said ok.. it works. lol

Well, this happened to me today.. Didnt had those problem before.. I'm shocked.. I'm now thinking what settings should I use to make it eat less ram, but really, I'm not even playing on max settings.. Getting stable 60 fps on my Asus gtx 960 and i5 4690k...
Even my friend, who has lower end system and 4gb of ram, he's not even crashing..
Will report this memory leak bug tomorrow at rockstar support..

Your friend probably uses lower settings, maybe lower texture or details quality, i guess things like that would take the most ram.

What settings should I lower, to make it use less ram?

I have everything maxed and the most I use is 4064 mb of VRAM.Could the difference in VRAM used have to do with last gen cards maybe?

We're talking here about ram not Vram...
