Turn off Profanity filter?

In the GTA Online component of the game, whenever someone says something "naughty" in chat, it gets censored out for me, while it does not for some of my friends, something they did not turn off. We looked through the options but couldn't find anything like this. Is there a way to turn off the profanity filter in the chat?

I want a way to disable chat on the screen when i'm in a public session. Tired of seeing all of the screen is covered with □□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□.

If you buy a game that requires you to rob, cheat, steal and murder , why the hell would anyone care about "naughty language" ?
Hypocrisy and snowflake stupidity might be the reason.
Grow up or play a different game.
I moved on from this garbage a LONG time ago.

Oddly enough, you can't say consoles or their brands, I.E. Sony.

Those are actually place holders for a character set your machine can't display.
Most likely they're East Asian characters, specifically Chinese, with cheater scum promoting their hacks.

It is annoying as there are many times when the person is not saying anything inherently bad but it filters out pieces of words simply due to letter combinations and the person typing has no clue their sentence has been lobotomized.

It is kind of silly to baby sit chat in a game whose dialog and cut scenes violate the censor left and right, and yet there is no way to prevent some bot from popping in and spamming the chat for 10 solid minutes with an ad in simplified chinese character set (Or sometimes in plain english) and you can not even mute them report them kick them etc, because they keep cycling their name, plus their name does not even really exist.

But we are worried that someone's kid is going to see some chat that probably can not even rival some of the games dialog, when said very young kid probably should not be playing this game anyways and if they see something offensive, it's mom and dad that need batted on the mouth, not the game, not the game's responsibility to supervise and teach them.
