GTA Online "Loading simulator" ?
When you first enter online it takes an age to load.. when you leave a job.. takes an age to load

Takes an age to load into a job/heist

This massive load ruins the fun when you know you've got to go on your phone for a minute whilst the game loads again.. would be so much better if it was almost instant and the players in the lobby just slowly connect one by one instead of waiting for them all to connect before your games places you in the world.

Are you using HDD or SSD? I notice long load times of like 10-15 seconds on my SSD's which load 99% of games in 1-3 seconds.

HDD.. every other game boots up extremely quickly so I'd say it's a network issue more than anything

Singleplayer my character switches are instant.. online is just a wait fest

The game is just really large, there's a lot to load. Even in singleplayer I'm talking 5x+ loading times compared to my average in other games. At least there's no loading mid-game?

Well considering you're constantly joining in and out of jobs the fact that this holds the largest load times does start to become annoying

I usually dread going online due to the rediculous amount of loading screens and how long they are

I use a SSHD it is also slow, when you change settings or crash you just cbf loading back into the game.
Guys. I use M.2 discs for both my operative system and for my gaming disc. Costly, yes that's true...but it seems like it has made no difference in the loading time. At the moment I waited 5 minutes, restarted the game and now it's gone another 5 minutes. Maybe it's longer loading times at weekends, because it's been kinda okay the rest of the week.

But all in all. On a computer with m2 discs and 32 gb ram, it should have taken 30 seconds. Remember that your computer with windows should start and load everything in 30 seconds. Saying that GTA 5 is big, is true, but it should NOT take this long!

This is exactly why i am not bothered anymore to play gta, it's more loading then playing the game.

Thanks oh so much for necro'ing this ancient thread. Your storage device speed has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the speed of a network connection.

Is that why you last played today, right?

This is pretty much why i can't stand GTA 5 Multiplayer... SSD, modern hardware, and it still loads slow as all hell.
