FPS Drops After Playing For 20 Minutes
Okay so I noticed that when I first get int othe game. My FPS stays at 50-60 and never drops. I can drive as fast as I want through the cities and my FPS will never drop below 50. But after about 20 minutes, I'll start to get really bad FPS spikes. And it progressivly gets worse the longer I play.

I noticed that my temp stays at 53-55C
CPU usage stays at about 60-70% but as my FPS drops, it'll drop down to about 30%.
Physical memory stays around 6-6.5 gigs.

Anyone else having this problem ?

What about your GPU temperature?
Sunde Apr 16, 2015 @ 11:21am
Odd, i dont have these issues, you CPU - And GPU temps are stable?

Yeah, it's an optimization glitch. Most of my friends have it.

Exactly the same issue here, all temperatures are fine and everything is good until about 30 minutes after I start the game and all I get is lag spikes everywhere.

Every single one of your components is the exact same temperature? This is extremely unlikely. Are you sure you're watching your CPU, GPU, and motherboard temperatures?

The behaviour you describe is exactly what would happen if one of your parts started getting hotter and hotter until going into low power mode to keep heat from destroying itself.

Same here, the game drops after 5-15 minutes (60fps to 20/15fps)

I've been getting it, but I noticed it was ram related. The longer I play GTA, the more ram it starts using... when i first start it it's around 60% usage, but after an hour or so it'll reach 80 and stay around there, then frames will start dropping constantly.

yep it's definitely a game issue. I've seen people with GTX 960s and 980s with the same problem.
It's not just low end cards.
...♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Rockstar. After 3 delays you give us this?!

What about VRAM usage?
Tell us more OP.

My ram usage stays at around 6.5gb out of 8gb.

According to the settings in game. I'm using 1507mb/2048mb. I've tried to decrease my settings but that hasn't helped either. :/
yeah, just wait for a patch, and hope that optimization improves....

I've been searching the Rockstar forums and people are saying it's probably a memory leak. When I start the game, my memory is usually at 5 gigs and it starts to increase the more I drive around. And after about 20-30 minutes, it's at 6.5 gigs and increasing. And the more it increases, the worse the FPS drops are (stuttering).
Then what should we do?

Hate to say it, but issues like this are why people prefer consoles. Not that it can't be fixed, but we hate waiting for the fixes and shouldn't have to.

It's a memory leak , it's confirmed by many and the stuttering start when your SWAP take the realy of the RAM who is eatend slowly by the game. Need a patch nothing at our level can be done.
Nybbas Apr 16, 2015 @ 2:25pm
Thank god it's not my ram. I saw it just eating away at my memory until my whole computer started to slow down and freeze.

The weirdest thing is that this does not happen to all, it is random...
Valazor Apr 17, 2015 @ 1:18am
just wait for a patch , i've tried every single "solution" that people posted and it simply does nothing , however turning down the settings in the game does give you more time before the stuttering starts... which might indicate a memory leak
