When does GTA Online save progress?

Does GTA Online save progress as I play (like an MMORPG) or only when I leave a session? If I get disconnected, will progress be saved to RGSC Cloud? If game crashes in middle of session, will progress be saved to Cloud? By progress I mean current stats/money/location.

I think anytime something happens. Like earning money etc. And when you are leaving it saves your current position. In the bottom right corner sometimes you can even see a little orange circle which shows the saving process.

Auto save works 2 way , it auto save every few minutes and you can trigger an auto save when you complete a job , you go back to SP , when you switch session/character etc. Anything that you do that track stats and data will trigger a save , like stunt jumps , robbing stores etc..

Just off the top of my head.

When you earn RP for anything you do.

When you walk into your apartment/garage.

When you earn money (Even just picking it up off a dead NPC)

When you leave LSC if you've modded your car.

When you lose a wanted level. (Because you get RP for that)

When you buy ammo.

When you buy clothes.

Keep your eye out for a little orange spinning circle in the bottom right hand corner.
If the game can't save you'll get a pop up above your map telling you that you can't connect to the R* Cloud servers. IF you get the message wait it out, sometimes it'll fix it self and you'll see

"SAVE SUCCESSFUL" then you'll know it saved it self.

If you get the "Can't connect to R* servers" message You won't be able to sell cars, buy cars, or store them in your garage.

prigress is saved,every time you completed an mission.
but you can also save the game with your cellphone.
if your game for whatever reason stops working,you restart the game.
when you make it back into game,it will drop you on the exact location from the last save.
you will also have the the money and equipment you had,on that very moment.
everything you did after that without saving the game by cellphone or doing missions is lost.
so be sure to save your game yourself every 15 or 30 minutes or so.
i have no idear what you mean with RGSC cloud,but there sure is an cloud on the cellphone.
it "that" cloud,that is allowing you to save the game yourself.
in single player mode its less needed to be used than in multiplayer.
i believe i have played 6 hours straight in single player mode,without any crash.
in multiplayer my game will crash after 15 minutes or so.
maybe it runs perfectly fine for you,i dont know.
just be aware of saving the game every so often.
