Game crashes during character switching

I'm playing the blitz play mission and after you escape the game auto switches back to Michael from Franklin and everytime it just crashes. I've replayed the entire mission with the lowest graphics settings and in windowed mode and it still crashes during the character switch. I've been running the game at almost max settings through the whole campaign before this and it's crashed 3 or 4 times when I try to use my weapon while driving or when I try to switch characters manually. But I can't seem to get through this mission without it crashing on me. It's always during the character switch when the camera is zooming in on Michael. Is anyone else having this issue or know of a way to fix it?

I've got the same bug, I've seen a few others with it as well. Submitted a problem ticket to rockstar, maybe it'll get fixed in a patch

It better get fixed. I can't progress in the story now. I have the latest drivers for my GTX 980. I read that if worked for some people after switching from direct x 11 to direct x 10 or 10.1 but it didn't do anything for me.

I found the actual fix, and it is so damn stupid.

1. Go to Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\Profiles\whatever subfolder there is
2. Delete cfg.dat and pc_settings.bin
3. Boot up the game
4. Do all your settings, but don't touch the save/load/whatever they call it (the one that lets you start straight to the game instead of the landing)

It now works. Because I don't even know why. Just beat the mission in under 5 minutes, got to switch, it changed without a problem and I'm on the next one.

Holy crap yup that worked for me too. I was using the skip mission option but there's so many missions that do that swapping thing and once they start I crash on pretty much all of them

after deleting this,i go to the game ,then i have to load the game,bcoz auto starting is on 54% but iam at mission 59%,,what should i do tell me please....

mine even more earlier , in the mission " By the Book " when switch from Micheal to Trevor in the cutsense , " GTA5.exe has stop working" . Now I can't complete the story mode because of this
