Nah screw that. Keep it going. I want to here more assumptions of him stealing the game from people. :) I for one buy all of my games, and if I want to play one of them with my wife, she buys it too on her account. BUT I still want it to be LAN. for the same reason OP mentioned. Less overhead if its just me and her playing.
Now im not saying OP did not steal it.... He could have, and I quite franly don't give a ♥♥♥♥ either way. Im just giving my two cents for the sole purpose of getting this conversation started again because im bored.
Although technically not LAN, you'll be hosting an online server (And it's not a 1 click host button, it requires settup) the server will be your PC, so essentially LAN as the server is local, but it still technically goes out and back.
This does let you play with mods, though.
