saving failed
hey,

i can't save my online progress and after i changed to story mode it still tries to save but it fails all the time (for about 2 h). if i quit the game complete my online progress for the current session is lost, isn't it?

Greetings, I'm having exact same problem I tried to contact the Rockstar Support but still not answering , 21 hours have passed. here is my information and troubleshooting steps:

GTA ONLINE SAVED DATA FOR CHARACTER 1 HAS BEEN CORRUPTED PC

Been playing for a few hours gta online, then the game frozen I restarted pc and when started GTA Online from steam it now says

" GTA Online saved data for Character 1 has been corrupted"

small update, I remember that I had always

unable to connect to Rockstar gaming service , written at the bottom left corner whenever I was playing online

I decided to try and overwrite the data, all previous data was wiped as described. and now I got new error.

There was an error processing your recent transaction. Please return to Grand Theft Auto 5 and try again later.

After that it goes into a story mode and when I click to go online, it gives 1st error " GTA Online saved data for Character 1 has been corrupted". Basically infinite loop

I've managed somehow to overwrite the character, and made a new one, now it joined online but it always shows at the left bottom corner above map,

"Saving failed, unable to conenct to Rockstar game services" .

I'm trying to find some similar topics and see if I can find a solution

Update:

Don't have an antivirus.
Windows firewall is disabled.

I'm trying to find which ports should be open at router , maybe it has something to do with that.

SS4 - Saving Failed, the rockstar cloud servers are currently unavailable . Your progress will be saved when connection is re-estabilished.

GTA Online requires the following ports to be open:

TCP Ports: 80, 443
UDP Ports: 6672, 61455, 61457, 61456, and 61458

Still "Saving failed, unable to conenct to Rockstar game services" .

It's Rockstar. They don't give a f*#K because they already have your money. We're all suckers to expect to be able to actually play the games we pay for. I mean honestly, how long did we wait for the release in the first place?

Those 'open these ports' statements are garbage, just another step that doesn't actually solve the issue. I'd bet maybe 1/5 of people have that as the actual problem, and R* just decided to say that's the solution for everyone.

I should mention that right now, I have the game open in the background with this very message popping up in the corner.

After giving me the "opening port" method, they haven't answered me since. I used to respect these guys.

Couldn't agree with you more. Have you found a solution to this problem cause I haven't.
