-Raw Input: very draggy
-Direct Input: less draggy but still draggy (impossible to aim for head without emptying my clip)
-Windows: CHOPPY as ♥♥♥♥! PERIOD, I can barely even move the cursor in the pause menu.
NOTE! I run this game at around 50 - 60 fps so low fps is NOT the issue!
You also need to disable vsync and cap the frame rate at something you don't drop under (since the sensitivity effectively goes up the higher the frame rate goes).
Raw input is currently very laggy for some reason. Windows input is actually very low latency, if you can get it working right, but it cuts out. If you keep changing the "mouse input method" round and put it on windows, then it will eventually come good, but still has cut out issues when pressing more than 1 key on the keyboard simultaneously
Oooo someone with data!! Polling rate? How so? What about adjustable DPI mice?
I have a zowie fk, and the polling rate is changed by me unplugging the mouse USB cable, then pressing a particular button on the mouse, then plugging it back in again. I suspect you can change the polling rate of a logitech mouse with the logitech software (that's how it would work with my razer orochi).
DPI, I don't know if that matters. I use my zowie fk on 1150, which is the middle setting, and it's fine.
Oh btw, I also noticed that with raw and windows (even if they work properly) have wierd frame rate stuttering issues (even though the frame rate will be reported as fine) when pressing more than 1 key on the keyboard and moving the mouse at the same time. This is not present with directinput
Hmm. Interesting and informative, cool thank you. I was thinking DPI was the polling rate.
DPI is really just how sensitive the mouse is. Polling rate is how frequently the mouse 'polls' for new data. 1000hz can lead to slightly less latency, though in practice there isn't anywhere near as much input lag from running in 125hz as, say, running vsync without capping the frame rate under the refresh etc
