This sounds like you maybe have issues on your end, mate. I'm running this on a gtx 780 ti, 4790 1080p @ 144hz x 3 screens and it's pretty flawless. What's the rest of your specs?
prizim Apr 14, 2015 @ 1:18pm
you should list the rest of your hardware so we know your not just some shmuck who bought a badass vid card and put it in with some other garbage hardware.

I've got a GTX980, running everything on max, no FPS drops at all.

4gb 770 and a 2600k at stock clock speeds. Everything on ultra 1080p 60fps. Maybe try to reinstall Windows, make sure everything is updated, re-download GTA 5 (I know it hurts) and then start fresh. Your 980 should bring GTA 5 to its knees.

dude i know why
you have to use nvidia driver for game
i couldnt even run at lowest settings w/ i5 and gtx 750

unpark your cpu cores and make sure your cpu's are running at full speed. The latest Nvidia drivers aren't good, I recommend going back to around the second month of 2015. I was getting like 40 fps in Battlefield before I unparked my cores and also when I had the latest Nvidia drivers. Also, if your CPU Turbo-X mode is on... or some kind of automatic clock boosting is on, then you should disable that immediately. For some reason or another, your CPU's might not be performing at your normal clock speeds. Mine were running at 1.5ghz before I fixed it, even when I stress tested or ran BF4 it was still in idle speed.
