Where is the GTA V Savegame Folder?

Hi everyone
Now anyone where i can find the the savegame folder?
The location on the pc.

I will take my savegame to a another pc but the social club dont save
my single player data :( and i must beginn from new.

Sure is a lot of confusing info on this thread.

Steam DOES NOT save your story mode games to the cloud, period.

Save game file name format is SGTA##### and SGTA#####.bak

Those saves are found in ...My Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\Profiles\XXX##X##\

Back up those SGTA files if you want to keep them safe. If there are no SGTA files in the above directory then you have no save games.

I found it yesterday not long after I opsted my question.. Its not always found in the profiles folder in Documets.. Try looking in "C:\ProgramData\Socialclub\RLD!\" All Saved games are in there...

Scott and Sif are both on to something. But Sif's answer is the correct one to this question.

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\Profiles

^ is the path to your GTA V settings such as graphics settings.

C:\ProgramData\Socialclub\YOURUSERNAME

^ is the path to your GTA V save game.

I just tested both. When you go into c:\ProgramData\Socialclub\ you don't need to be overwhelmed with what you see, just copy and paste it to the same location on the computer you're trying to transfer the save game to and start the game. It does the rest for you. This just worked for me.

The other "could" be for R* version -
And NYC's quote is for a pirate/crack version.

For anyone else that finds this necro'd thread - cloud saving is available now (for most users).

I double-click on my profile, but there are only 2 files : cfg.dat and pc_settings.bin, help?

^ There aren't any there then. The files are sgta5000 whatever.

(you have to make a save game) it is in (your pc) > documents > rockstar games > profiles > random numbers and letters > (put save files in there (replace them as well)

I followed your steps and i find a file folder named "549C5CD6", iI clicked on it and appeared a DAT file named "cfg.dat" and a VLC media file (.bin) named "pc_settings". Which one is my save file and why does my PC keeps not finding my save file?

Under or next to the .bin file you should see SGTAxxxxx and SGTAxxxxx.bak (the x's are a number mine are 50000) If you have auto save switched on you will see a second one with a different last digit. These files are your saved games.

And how can i acces these saved games. I have 3 saved games 1 is SGTA50000, SGTA50000.bak, SGTA 50001, SGTA 50001.bak and SGTA 50015.bak without ending with "bak".

Sorry for necroing this old topic but... I don't have my save files anymore (didn't play the update where the cars thing was introduced, or this latest update), I only played some time ago before the new cars were released, however now I don't have anything.

I still logged in automatically to my social club account as always, but I don't have anything anymore.

What happened?

Just an update, guys. If you're playing this game, offline and couldn't find your saved game files in the documents path, go to your local disk C: inside it, if you couldn't see the "ProgramData" folder click on the view tab in the top of your folder explorer and check the unchecked "Hidden Items" option and then go to your ProgramData folder, then Socialclub, then go to the RLD! folder, then go to the 271590 folder and there you have it. All of your SGTAXXXX.bak files! :)

Haha you just admitted to pirating the game. shame on you.

I just figured it out!
you should go to C:\ProgramData\Socialclub\yourusername(rld!)
copy files inside the folder which contains cfg.dat and pc_settings.bin
then paste it to My documents\rockstargames\gtav\profiles *inside the folder*

first of all check that steam.ini file in your game folder there you can find the location of your save file which was C:\ProgramData\Socialclub\Profile name for me
