GTA V online server selection? Stuck with Chinese speakers.

So I just played my first experience of GTA V online and no offense intended, but all the players were from China. Is there a way to select a region I play in to play with more English speaking players?

This is annoying. It's 10PM on Saturday night and I can only find really angry Asian people to play with. There's no way for me to communicate with them. I just see boxes for a font. Doesn't much matter anyway, I wouldn't be able to read Chinese.

The other part of the problem is the lag. All sorts of bugs and crashing going on. Connections timing out. Driving with players that lag so much that you would swear your helicopter was grinding along the ground a second ago.

There's plenty of reasons why we need more control over where we connect to.

It depends on when u r playing... late at night I play with foreigners mostly from Europe... during the day is a lot of Korean and Chinese players...

U can add me if u want :-) I obviously know English... hehe

The problem with playing with some Chinese players is that they speak in little squares.


J/K. I know it is because my system does not have the character translation, not that I would understand anyway. I was playing with some Russian players last week and for some reason my system displayed the Cyrillic symbols. Once again, not that it mattered. Plus, they tried to shoot me when the mission was over. Luckily I was in passive mode.

I really think R* should add a server region menu or atleast a language selection menu so we could get matched with players that speak the same language,if anyone wants to play though,my social club name is ''.Packard''.I'm mostly online in the weekends.

I'm confused about this too, I'm from the UK and almost every player I have encountered is either Brazillian, Russian, Chinese or French. Only time I encounter numerous other english speaking people is when I play with my American friends. Wierder still is that I always end up dropping out of sessions that have Russian and Chinese players, almost as if it can't maintain a solid connection to them. So why is the game putting me there in the first place?

This game is peer to peer connection. There are no servers. If you're having connection issues with them. It's most likely because of you not them. I can play withour lag or latency issues in a lobby full of China and russian players. You're connecting to those session because they happen to be peeked during your play time. If I played gta at 8 to 10am pst, I would run into lobbies with Russian or chinese players too. Not an issue. How do you even know all the players in the session are a certaim flag anyway? Not all anyway accounts are public and nor does everything have their flag public

The way i understand the "server" picking works, is about ping. I never get to play with chinese any longer, but i now play with a lot of russians (i'm from EU, and ping to russia is <60).

I am not in a session with US players either. So i think it's ping based. Ping to USA is >100. Also to china its >200-300.

So i think you are stuck with playing chinese and indians, but not to worry, also Australia is in your ping range.

My ISP is below average, so my ping outside from EU is quite bad. So i think i know what im talking about.
