Missing "PlayGTAV.exe"/"GTA5.exe"

It appears that some owners of the Steam version are missing the "PlayGTAV.exe" and some owners of the retail version are missing the "GTA5.exe".

I for example have the Steam version and miss the "PlayGTAV.exe". If you you face a similar Problem please respond with your version and the missing "_______.exe"

where is playgtav supposed to be? i certainly cant find it in my install.

I was thinking it might have been caused by the antivirus/registry cleaner. I just uninstalled my antivirus and disabled my registry cleaner. Right now I'm verifying the integrity of my game cache. I will update when it's done.

I have retrieved a copy of playgtav.exe and placed it in my folder to see if it's absence from the steam version is why i cant launch the game. it did not help.

willwire has Grand Theft Auto V 10 minutes ago
I'm getting this same issue and I got my game through the rockstar website. The launcher opens for a second then crashes instantly. I'm already regretting my purchase
If you have Windows 8 and above and 2 or more display adapters (check Device manager > DIsplay adapters, if there's 2 or more then do that following)

- Disable your main card from there
- Launch the game
- As soon as the Social Club signing in screen goes away, quickly enable your card again

iv done everything iv seen reinstalling verifying game cache reinstalling social club downloading the laatest version on social club creating another windows accound starting with only a . tried the disabling of video card on start up on game and many more other so called fixes

and nothing works

tried it it doesnt work for amd cards

Yep, didn't get that "PlayGTAV.exe".
It just still crashes right after launching the game.
I hope R* can fix it really soon. Can't wait to play.

I tried submitting a support ticket aswell, unfortunately, the "Submit" button doesn't respond.

This seemed to have worked for me since I have a mobile GPU:

My friend and I both had this problem and this fixed it: Open device manager, go to display adapters, and disable your nvidia device so only the intel card is enabled. After launching the game re-enable the nvidia card quickly. The game will then work. Seems like there's a compatibility problem with mobile nvidia cards.
Edit: Reenable the Nvidia card while the launcher is up, not after the full game has actually come up."

Basically, you just disable your Nvidia Video Card by opening the Device Manager, go to Display Adapters, and disable your Nvidia device so only the Intel card is enabled. When the game launches (When you see Social Club window pop-up) re-enable the Nvidia card. The game will then work.
