GTA Online Randomly Freezing/Crashing

So first off I have to say GTA V is probably my favorite in the series next to Vice City so far. Sadly GTA Online is giving me and others problems. I just got through doing the first Team Deathmatch mission and the team I was on won and when the match was over and it was calculating payout or whatever it says the game froze and I got the pop up that said it had stopped running or something of that nature. I do hope these issues will get fixed quickly as I would love to spend more time in the game rather than it freezing and getting frustrated.heh

One more note, the issue seems to happen mostly when the game is trying to do some sort of save it seems. Like after a mission or match etc...

My PC specs are:
Core i7 2.8Ghz
12Gb Ram
EVGA GTX 660 3Gb FTW, using latest Driver
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

same here, but not only on deathmatch, its randomly, even standing still the game freezes

I had this problem before. It was caused by the patch released by the rockstar. To fix this, you must set the grass quality from Ultra to Normal, yes, NORMAL only.

Next step, disable the steam overlay for this game. This makes the gpu unstable.

If you have been overclocking your GPU's, then for this game, don't. The game doesn't support overclocking (I don't know if this is right to say) because some games' graphics are really GPU demanding that it makes the graphics drivers crash. This step should be a BIG need especially for multi-GPU systems.

Since I made this thread I have posted in many other Crashing threads, and the crashing seems random, can happen at any time. I can play maybe 5min, 10min, 30min, an hour, maybe 2 if I'mr really lucky and then it crashes. This happens in Story Mode as well, though it seems it happens less frequentley in Story Mode than Online.

I put a ticket in with Rockstar over a week ago and they only responded one time and it was just some generic post and did not offer any solutions and asked that if I was still having the issue to reply, so I have replied many times and have provided numerous Event Viewer crash logs and they have yet to reply back to me.

I will give the suggestions you gave Jhestor a try, but I am not very optimistic they will work, as I have tried every other option under the sun.

Just an update. I am still having random crashes and Rockstar still has not responded to my ticket.

Praying for a patch soon.

I get random freezes both in GTAO and Story mode, after the most recent patch. I have been able to play for an hour or 2, probably longer, at a time, so it's not exactly game breaking. I would like to see it fixed, however.

You are very lucky then. It is random for me. I might play 10, 20, 40 minutes, maybe an hour or so if I'm really lucky.
