Next step, disable the steam overlay for this game. This makes the gpu unstable.
If you have been overclocking your GPU's, then for this game, don't. The game doesn't support overclocking (I don't know if this is right to say) because some games' graphics are really GPU demanding that it makes the graphics drivers crash. This step should be a BIG need especially for multi-GPU systems.

I put a ticket in with Rockstar over a week ago and they only responded one time and it was just some generic post and did not offer any solutions and asked that if I was still having the issue to reply, so I have replied many times and have provided numerous Event Viewer crash logs and they have yet to reply back to me.
I will give the suggestions you gave Jhestor a try, but I am not very optimistic they will work, as I have tried every other option under the sun.
Praying for a patch soon.
