Unable to access Rockstar servers[SOLVED: FIX INSIDE]
I have verified integrity, uninstalled, redownloaded the game, moved/installed game to different drives, disabled firewall/disconnected router to connect to wall ethernet directly, deleted rockstar my documents folder/files

Edit: Not to mention this is the only game to give me this kind of issues. I can run any other games without any net/technical issues

Edit 2: I have finally solved the problem. The problem I discovered was the persistence of multiple network conflicts and a possible bug in resolving activation when under a network conflict. To solve this, use a VPN network and then open GTA 5 from steam(external wifi with different network configuration may work too), it should be able to now connect to the rockstar server and activate it properly. After landing on home page in GTA5, you can quit and restart and be able to connect to rockstar servers normally as before without needing VPN

I used VPN servers designed for academic purposes to resolve this issue. Follow the instructions here: http://www.vpngate.net/en/howto_softether.aspx

[SOLVED:FIXED] What worked for me was turning off my anti-virus/firewall. I use my school's antivirus (Symantec Endpoint Protection) and that always gives me connection issues.

Hope this helped :)

IF THIS DOESN'T WORK TRY TO ADD IT IN YOUR STEAM LIBRARY AS A NON STEAM GAME AND LAUNCH IT FROM THERE. 100% WORKED FOR ME AND BELIEVE I HAD TRIED REMOVING ANTIVIRUS ,DELETING ANTIVIRUS,TURN OFF FIREWALL ,USE VPN .NOTHING.PURE SOLUTION

@vasiliou - No, adding R* version gtav to steam as a non-steam game - and launching it did not resolve your connection issues. There are many other things that can cause that error - and quite a few of them are out of your control - period (isp, internet, dns, etc).

The only thing I could imagine that would cause your "solution" to work - is your firewall was improperly configured and launching the game from steam - used steam's rules instead of the poorly configured/improperly configured ones for R* version fo gtav. Then, please explain why others using the steam version fo gtav - can still receive this error.

Your fix most likely is coincidental at best. Stuff like this happens all the time basic on geographic location, server outages, dns issues, router/hardware burps, etc etc etc.

weird but worked for me, I just restarted the router(to get new public IP) xD
plus the "netsh winsock reset" fix.
Some nights rockstar servers are crap.

Also try this

This is for PC:

Delete your Rockstar Social Club Folder in your documents

Try:

-Open Command Prompt as Administrator

- netsh winsock reset

Then restart your PC

If it did not work try this:

netsh int ipv4 reset

ipconfig/flushdns

netsh int ipv6 reset

Then restart you PC

If that did not work try this:

- Type “msconfig” in the Cortana Search Box and then click on MSConfig (Run Command)-

- On the Services tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click to select the Hide all Microsoft services check box, and then tap or click Disable all-

On the Startup tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click Open Task Manager.- On the Startup tab in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then click Disable.- Close Task Manager.

- On the Startup tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click OK, and then restart the computer.Once you restart your PC, try launching the game again and let us know if you're still facing this issue.

If that doesn't work, try to see if you have any of these programs installed:

-Open up the windows App Uninstaller.

-PremierOpinion

-MailRuUpdater

-PriceFountain

-RelevantKnowledge

If you do, delete them and run your Anti-Virus program.
Offline play is only for accounts that has previously signed in on this machine (with "Remember me" ticked) while connected to the internet and while social club services are available. You have not previously signed in on this machine.

I keep getting this and locked out of the game!

Anyone experiencing this? help PLS!
This was super helpful!! I loaded into GTA Online using my cell phone as a WiFi hotspot, then quit the game and connected again with my regular WiFi. It’s been fixed ever since, thanks for sharing this!!!
